US university cancels its own Valedictorian's speech

A US university has cancelled its Valedictorian's graduation speech after backlash from Pro-Israel groups. The student, who has a minor in Genocide resistance, has called this move unfair and cowardly.

The university has defended itself saying it has not in fact chosen a stance one way or another, but fears for the safety of those involved given there will be over 60,000 people in attendance, and the issue is contentious.

The student in question apparently has linked to material previously on social media calling for a one state solution, and that called Zionism a neo colonial racist movement bent on creating a Jewish ethnostate.

this was more of a punishment for being pro palistine/ herself being muslim honestly they could've employed the city's police force just as easily to increase security for the graduation.....reminds me why i didn't go to college (one reason at least)

In all seriousness, the ulterior motives behind the student's speech being canceled are clear as crystal. That student would have had immense potential to rally/gain support for Palestine (should she have decided to do so).
The growing divide between people who support Israel and Palestine is interesting to witness. It's a direct challenge to why we support the countries that we do--a question that politicians seem to be avoiding answering at all costs.

Considering how often you've posted actual Neo-Nazi/White Nationalist conspiracies (like the time you went on about "White Genocide,) and other nonsense, do consider that I have very little reason to trust anything you post isn't going to be poisoned. Simply put, even if we agree at a fundamental level, I still pose the question as to if my agreement is going to be tainted. For the last decade anyone that had any issue with anything to do with Jews was slammed as a Nazi.

I also find it funny that people believe that the government actually cares about TikTok being a national security threat when they had more than two years to do something about that. On top of that, the White House made an account on there this year. More than likely, the TikTok bill is overreaction for the antisemitism they think is coming from there.

Instead of the sophistry over some pretended distinctions, how about focusing on peoples' actions? Those "pro-Palestinian" protestors on US college campuses have been actively harassing American Jewish students, many of whom have probably never even been to Israel. Forming human chains to block Jews from walking onto a university campus is something only ever seen on the internet the last few days, and in Germany and Austria in the late 1930's.

The right spews antisemitic conspiracy theories like "Jews run the world and all its banks," the left is anti-genocide regardless of who's committing it. Logically it tracks that the same people outraged by Russia's invasion of Ukraine would be outraged by Israel's invasion of Gaza and the West Bank. Committing tens of thousands of war crimes is not a proportionate response to a single (preventable) terrorist attack.

Moreover, the global right-wing supported occupying Afghanistan and Iraq for twenty years, and that accomplished absolutely nothing except empowering and creating even more terrorists than were there to begin with.
