Bought a second turkey today to lay eggs, well, I had three, but the first one was killed by the gang of chickens so I've segregated the turkeys from the chickens.

Don't make the same mistake. :P

A PS4 Slim with controller (because my old one was broken) from a friend.
And 8bitdo Ultimate controller.
What system version does it have? The latest?

Would've been cool if it were 9.00 or less.

Came back from the reptile expo, with no reptiles. Instead, I got 13 tarantulas, food for my geckos(1 bag for me and 2 for my friend), feeder insects for the tarantulas, 2 millipede, mice for my hognose and corn snakes and some plants for a dart frog terrarium I'm going to starts and a pitcher plant. I've always wanted a pitcher plant but could never find them.

So the tarantulas are all dwarfs except 1.
It was 5x Kochiana brunnipes, 5x Neoholothele incei, and 2x Davus pentaloris and 1 Brachypelma emilia.

You would need a Very big Tararium? for all that.

Today I got the first welding on years,

I am going to start a project where I need to write some EEPROMS and I buy a CH431Pro programmer, and learned the damn chinesse gadget have a critical design flaw, the VCC for the EEPROMS is 3V3 but the datalines are 5V!!! so searched intensively and found a fix which involves to lift the CH431B chip VCC pin and solder directly to 3V3 out of regulator and feed 3V3 to the 3V pin.

No my best work but really some years have since my last micro welding.

So helping with my new microscope:

the VCC of chip lifted, put some kapton under to avoid any short :P

Then connected to 3V3

the 3V pin is so near to 3V3 out of regulator:

Rapoo VT9 Pro because it went on a flash sale yesterday on Amazon.
Orico Bluetooth adapter with Broadcom chipset because i'm trying to figure out if its CSR that was too lazy to include Bluetooth BLE support on Windows XP or if Broadcom is also lazy. All of that because Xbox controllers aren't picked up by the adapter, a keyboard and trackpad combo i have that's Bluetooth also isn't picked up by the adapter and my G603 as well.

And yes the TP-Link adapter i have does supports Bluetooth BLE, its the damn driver that doesn't support it.

Got some stuff

Also got this bag to keep my PSP Go safe, however it's garbage as it can't actually close with a PSP Go inserted. The stupid zipper has to scratch over the plastic of the thing if I'd want to force it, but that's not going to happen.

Those are some amazing images, what's the model number / store link? I've been considering getting a microscope as well.

In 2018/2019 I bought a fucking chinese "1TB" External Hard Drive that I was going to use for storage.
The shit stopped working after I filled it with around 100GB of files.

Today I remembered that, when I threw away the fucking chinese "1TB" External Hard Drive, I saved this blue PCB and the USB that came with it.

Couple weeks ago I got broken computers, one came with a 120GB SSD and the other with that Toshiba 320GB HDD. And I was looking to buy a SATA to USB converter, but decided to try the Chinese adapter instead.
It works!

The SSD has been formated to FAT32 in one partition, and right now I'm analyzing the Toshiba HDD, I will meddle around to see what nasty things I can find and then I'll format it.

So... it seems I got 2 Hard Drives for free.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
    +1
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
