The forcible snatching of books, pictures or movies deemed illegal by goernment with little to no care for the homeowner's privacy is very much what happened in the USSR, East Germany, Eastern bloc Poland, Czechoslovakia, Derg-controlled Ethiopia, Yugoslavia and still occurs in Mainland China ""DPRK"", Vietnam since after the end of the Vietnam War, and Castroist Cuba. I think the people throwing a fit over AI are really overblowing the issue. Digital artists have been using some form AI assistants pretty much since the dawn of digital art. I also honestly don’t think AI will be “stealing jobs.” If your job was “stolen” by AI, then continue it elsewhere, you don’t need to compete with AI nor need companies supporting your work. I think people really forget that indie work is an avenue. I also don’t think people think that people will always prefer the human touch AI can never provide. If ever does, I am pretty sure we have something else to worry about.
