Misc Rigid Nintendo region settings clash regarding Club Nintendo & 3DS - am I shafted? HALP!

US eshop is region locked by credit card. Only US credit cards will work on the US eshop. As for netflix that app doesn't work outside of the US.

Misc Are Japanese 3ds maxed out at 3 miis a Nintendo zone?

When I home pass my Japanese 3ds maxes out at 3 miis a Nintendo zone while my American 3ds maxes out at 6 miis a Nintendo zone. Was this done because street passes are more common in Japan? Does anybody know any Japanese home pass addresses? I would like to street pass with more Japanese...

Hacking Where to get a firmware 4.5 or below 3DS XL?

I just noticed it is different from mine. Mine doesn't have any fabric lining.

Hacking Where to get a firmware 4.5 or below 3DS XL?

I have that Black aluminum case on my Blue 3ds. It does look nice but be warned it will scratch your 3ds up. I wanted a Black 3ds at the time and that is why I got. I would look into a Tpu case if I was you.

Hacking Where to get a firmware 4.5 or below 3DS XL?

I don't need one since I'm getting a Japanese 3DS. But, thanks for the offer anyways.

Hacking Where to get a firmware 4.5 or below 3DS XL?

Was the Mario Kart bundle re released? Because my local Wal-mart had 6 of them in the glass case.

I don't want to spend $80. I'll just wait for the cheap knock of version.

    Hacking Gateway payback?

This may come as a culture shock to you. You see in the West the customer is always, but that doesn't exist the Orient.

    Hacking Gateway payback?

Since there aren't too many 4.5 3DS around I'm sure Gateway will probably just close up shop instead of making a new flash cart. That would mean no more software updates from Gateway.

    Hacking Gateway payback?

As long as Nintendo supports region locking, I support people getting the games they want to play on there 3DS by any means necessary.

Hacking GW 3DS Petition to remove brick code

Really? I don't have a 4.5 3DS so I wouldn't know. I have seen people on youtube using it to get past the 3DS region lock.

Hacking GW 3DS Petition to remove brick code

Lots of people buy Gateway to get around Nintendo's region lock to play their legitimate purchased import games. You do take big risk whenever you mod your system. Especially when do it with a counterfeit flash card made by some fly by night company. With flash carts you get what you pay for...

Hacking How can anyone be okay with Gateway's behavior?

Its Gateway's software they can do what they want with it. They are not a big rich corporation that piracy doesn't hurt.

Hacking Isnt Gateway losing money by brick all these 3ds?

Lol, at all of this. I guess there really is no honour among thieves. Don't blame Gateway, blame the pirates that stole Gateway's software.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    but that's a long shot

i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
