Mods:- This is not an attempt to sell my property, I am merely looking for advice on current valuations

I've kind of been looking through the trading sections here, eBay and Gumtree but not really finding the information I'm looking for. The situation is that I'm just 'thinking' about selling one of my Switch consoles, it's a V1 that was professionally fitted with a Trinket M0 by MattyTrog (it had all straps fitted. Vol+ strap, joycon strap, USB strap).
It's in immaculate condition, its had a tempered glass screen protector on it since the day of purchase, I used the console only ever in docked mode to play and complete both Super Mario Odyssey and New Super Mario Bros Deluxe and with the exception of those 2 games it's been locked away in my media cupboard unused for ages.

I guess I could sell it alone as just the tablet, or I could sell it fully boxed with the official dock.

The joycons and the Switch backplate were also modded with expensive BassTop after market Classic White kit with coloured buttons, this cost me another £80 when I bought it.

The only negative is that it's online banned by Nintendo, it can receive official updates for system updates but cannot update games which means alternative methods must be used.

It would be a UK sale, condition is everything and this really is pristine..... Also I'm under no pressure to sell as I'm not desperate for the money I just haven't used it in years and someone who really wants one should enjoy it.

So what sort of price should I be looking at for say just the Tablet ? and then fully boxed with everything else ?

Any help will be really appreciated, I may not respond immediately as I'll be offline now.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

I don't know if we have firm prices for such things as you get enough of the "wants a modded device off the showroom floor" types that will pay up for it, as well as those that resent paying more than the baseline second hand price along with there being enough of them technically available (hardware flaw in millions selling device after all) to make volatility quite notable/keep a bit of a price cap.

Even banned (it will reduce the market as some think mods + ability to play online in some capacity is a thing that exists in spite of... all of history in modding online games. However plenty will not give a damn) and first gen (newer screens and batteries are nice to have but it is not a DS to DS lite, PSP1000 to not that or only newer models can play these will be in best games on the system list forever more scenario) it will be above what the general second hand price is, possibly even by some margin. There are also just about enough out there that it is not only the lucky/knowing few that bought a special edition and shelved it. You then get to do the immediate sale vs holding out for the desperate for modded device/money does not mean much debate, possibly another if you want to wait until post E3/Christmas run up to see if Switch gets some games (though Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, Mario platformer and what could pass for a mainline pokemon game are already out so it would have to be something notable there/them taking another kick at the cat which is almost unprecendented... maybe that Zelda revisit will be out or Mario Kart was a port so have the real one for this gen) or maybe homebrew scene explodes (doubtful but who knows).
The dock is a dock, especially if it is not going to be SXOS with USB loading options, we are probably decades off people caring about matching serials in such a regard. Might get a tiny bit more in a bundle from the showroom floor types if they don't have to go fetch one of those, might shift it quicker to someone that already has such toys if you leave it out.
Modded type is nice but modded is mostly modded for these purposes -- not like one is immensely more reliable or capable in some regard (see 360 DVD vs JTAG/RGH, or sky3ds vs firmware mods).

Joycons and backplate probably add nothing, might even detract for some as they are not necessarily the best quality replacements. Indeed if you have the old ones then maybe consider chucking them in the box as well.

Hopefully you have occasionally charged it in the time since -- deep discharge would not be the worst problem to sort but if you don't have to then better. Similarly it might not matter as much but if it could be on current versions of mods (though just not being SXOS is probably enough) that might entice those that want the white glove from the showroom floor treatment.

Force me into a number then £100 over baseline for equivalent physical condition might be on the higher end but I have seen some go for more, quite a bit in fact and being as minty as you say would be a boon on that front (I might be content to scrape human slime out of a device to save even £5 but plenty are not).

No supply and high demand, and you may have just missed the bus on that because just up until two weeks ago, I couldn't find a switch anywhere and almost paid 500 for a mint V1, but I waited and got a perfect condition V1 for 225 from someone who had no idea what it was, I just put a ticket in it and a 512gb SD card updated it and loaded it with atmosphere and everything else along with about 30 games for my wife and kids to play (wife is obsessed with Mario brothers) but I'm willing to bet once Christmas comes around again there will be another shortage, good luck on the sale I hope you get your top asking price

Price of the console new + the price of the hard mod added - 100 for it being used - 50 for it being banned = profit.

lol i unno man. Why not just keep it? or give it to an interested family member? Or take it apart and use the hard mod again on a non-banned console?

Hmmm and there was me thinking I'd top end get maybe £250 for everything. Definitely need to have a think about the best way to sell this.

BIG thank you to @FAST6191 @Hayato213 @JayBae for the insights and opinions, really appreciate you :)

The thing is it doesn't matter if the unit is banned or not people would still buy it if it is banned or not, since it has the trinket m0, that ban mean nothing, if it non modchip then it is a different story, I sold a few trinket m0 modchip units already so I kind of know the price for it, and how much people willing to pay to get their hand on it, as it is rare. You could reduce the price a little if you are worrying about it being banned like 20 pounds or something to be honest if that ban bother you.

I'll level with you, before I asked for help and opinions on here I had a solid £200 for the tablet in my mind and would sell it all boxed for £250 but I'm kind of unsure now.

I really don't want to sell it on eBay purely for the fact it would be a nightmare trying to explain the whole booting process and CFW. This massively closes the available markets to me, the same problem also applies to Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree to a certain degree of explaining the whole thing haha.... I knew this day would come but always thought people would be wanting these badly.

200 to 250 pounds that like no value in return, I don't know man it is up to you, it is worth more than that anyway.

Your target audience will already know about CFW.

If peeps are looking for a modded switch, you don't really need to explain how to use it, people looking for it will already be aware that there is a process.

I do know, it's not worth $600 or whatever, scalpers made the price get up there during the pandemic, but them the prices we stuck at, thing is they aren't getting away with those prices anymore, peek at ebay and see what peeps are selling them for, find the range that seems fair and right to you that makes profit, and sell it at that price, do know selling it all as a set including everything will get you more than just selling the tablet by it's self/

lol I got my switch for about $250, 1st gen, low SN. Came with the dock, snes style joycons, Wiiu Pro Controller, a Magic-NS(makes the wiiu controller work on switch) Two HDMI cords, and two OEM chargers, It was never modded or banned, guy used it legit, said his kids just stopped using it, TBH I feel like I did highway robbery on the guy, I may not have a mod chip, but I don't really need one for an unpatched switch, would just be overkill, am thinking of building in a trinket tho, so I don't have to use my payload injector all the time.

Tho being yours has a modchip, and depending on what kind it is, you could get away with selling it for a lot more, those older modchips can be pretty pricey nowadays cause you can't get your hands on them EZ, unless it's one of them newer Chinese clone modchips.

Probably around 600-650 USD convert that to pounds so 450 to 490 Pounds, if you include SD card price might go up.
For real? I don't think anyone would pay that much money for the original v1 model, most people don't even know what rcm loader is, let alone trinket M0.

Mods/custom parts don't really matter since you are selling it used. If you want more money out of it, sell joycon/tablet/other accessories separately.

I'd say you can sell it for $400 if you are lucky (as it's banned), cause I just sold a new OLED with HWFLY for $650. Probably because I listed it on Facebook and everyone's cheap there. Try ebay auction if you can ship it, probably could sell for more but ebay charges around 12% fee.

Yea obviously OP can get more than his 200-250 pounds price tag. Unpatched goes for 250-350 usd now a day. People would be willing to paid money for something that is rare these units are rare even on ebay. A different story though I did gotten someone to pay $2500 for a katsukity 3nds. So the moral of the story is don't underprice it.

Gosh, I still have my spare launch console bundle sitting upstairs. Bought it as a 1.0 and rented the game to patch it to 3.0 back in the day (before knowing that a 1.0 model was worth more). I know if I was to sell it would be the day my main unit goes and dies, since that is how it works.
