NSO is used a lot of LFS to inject games. If that's your case, it won't work for you. You need to remove everything related to LFS.

Unlimited health was working for me earlier, but stopped. I reloaded the game but it didn't seem to help. I'm thinking maybe because my Max life went up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My max health is 140

Hmmm, that may be the case, I didn't test it from increasing max health. I didn't think that would have affected it, and not really sure how to fix it, if I have time to look into it I'll try to fix it.

You need to collect all the emblems in normal mode. After that go to the last level and just before the pink gate that you need to shoot and break go back and fall into the pit at the right side. You will access a secret hallway that have a door with the emblem symbol at the end of it. If you have all the emblems you will enter this room. A cut scene will be happen and after that the game ends and you return to the title screen but now hard mode is unlocked in the ??? space.

Much appreciated! I tried to find the values myself, but I was unable to find them. I tried searching through the memory, but to no avail. I even looked at the code within the text file, but I didn't understand how those work, I was hoping for just pointer locations and values, but it looks more complicated than that.
