How do you know it has 250gb? Have you tested it with h2wtest? Just because Windows says it has 250Gb available, doesn't mean this is actually true. Counterfeit SD cards will report more capacity than they actually have. Run h2wtest.
I trasnfer 240 Gb of Movies and tv shows and never received a full storage messages

I don’t know why you would buy an sd card from AliExpress, 99% of them are fake that either do have that storage and are super slow, or delete your files. I’ve heard of people getting fakes off amazon, so I just buy them at physical stores, some allow price matching with amazon if amazon is cheaper, in Australia, I’ve been able to price match amazon at JB-HI-FI multiple times.

you know it just overrites the data, you need to actually use the program everyone keeps telling you to use, then you will truley know if it works or not, and class 10 speeds are fine for the switch i use one and its fine

it says that the card is actually a 4GB sd card. only half of the 8 GB was correctly verified

Sorry this happened to you, I understand money's tight. Use the information from the test to obtain a refund, they've clearly mis-sold this. Then I'd suggest just looking out for a sale, I use mymemory which is based in the UK so will probably be more expensive shipping to Argentina, if they even offer that. But if they do - I got a 256gb microSD card from them recently for my switch for £17.99 when it was on sale. Otherwise I'd try Amazon, it can have it's fair share of dodgy dealers but Id suggest you're far less likely to be scammed on there than on AliExpress.

Who would ever buy micro sd cards on Aliexpress? That's just dumb. Like Jayro said, first time on the internet?

is not true, there are micro-sd brand from china/aliexpress who are legit and much cheaper.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Buying SD Cards from China is like playing Russian Roulette with 5 bullets instead of 1.
lol, nope!

1- aliexpress refund you no question asked, so you dont risk much even if you end up buying a fake sd card
2- there are legit brand with good performance and real capacity
3- is enough check the review and the images/test people post about the product they received, to try to get at first try a decent product

couple of test i done myself:

32gb micro sd, just 3 euro.

AliExpress is well known for scams, this isn't really new
It does have 250 gb but its super slow , and if you put small file as boot.dat it nos even read from the switch
If it's super slow, then it most likely doesn't have 250GB.

It`s always a risk buying a SD card online. Once I bought a Samsung Evo 256 GB on Amazon, and it was a fake!! I even posted in this page the differences:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/fake-sd-cards-on-amazon-com-buyer-beware.513875/

So, on Aliexpress and at that price, man, it reeked of a scam!! Always be careful when buying online and read some articles to find out how to spot between fake and original SD cards.

very good price for this big size card, GG man!!!

but other sizes are kinda expensive on bangood, better aliexpress:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32957462237.html

about verify the product, see there are +4.500 reviews, 95% 5 star, and there are a lot of user review with photos and screenshot of speedtest/real size test.

if product on aliexpress have this kind of review, you pretty sur will be a good deal and a legit product.

only downsize is you will have to wait 3-8 weeks (sometimes if you unlucky with postal office of your country or if you order during big sales, when a lot of package left china, even 10-11), depends of your luck ad your location.

but if you get scammed aliexpress will refund you.

most scammer get away with it because customers didint open a litigation.

Even if these are real you can't know the quality of the flash memory so be careful. Possibly they will die faster than known good brands.

AliExpress is like the eBay of China.

You should know that you can't actually buy that much storage for so cheap. I mean, 128GB? Yeah, that you can.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
