Sooo do we have golden eye working now? I see comments about perfect dark working ;)

I'll test it as soon as my computer extracts the new retroarch and I can transfer it to my sd card, which takes forever for me for some reason.

But I need to know if we need to change the cfg file for the new feature to work.

Download and install the latest retroarch nightly. If you've already done that or that doesn't help, I have no idea why it's crashing.

Probably the only way to find out is start testing games ourselves.

Do we need to alter the cfg file for that?

I imagine it’s going to be something in the options menu.

What's the smartest way of updating to the latest core each day? I've been deleting all of the Retroarch files from my SD card everyday (thousands of files) and copying over the files from the new nightly. I'm probably wasting time and wearing out my SD card for no reason. Are there any issues with just copying over the new Mupen Next core?

Yeah it takes forever i use nxmtp which allows you to transfer the files via usb but it still takes forever its about the same speed as putting your sd card in your computer.

Im not downloading new ones everyday though just when theres a big improvement.

I don't see a full speed core option, but I see VI Refresh (Overclock) and Noise Emulation which are both new.

Goldeneye still stutters some.

Edit: I see full speed framerate, I suppose that's it. Goldeneye still stutters a little bit. I'd say it's playable but not perfect. Tiny freezes when you shoot or there's enemies on screen is about it. For me personally I'm going to stick to Wii64 on Wii U for Goldeneye for now.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

My version says 1.7.5 - Mupen64Plus-Next OpenGL 1.0 e56c935. Is that right? I've had versions before that were Open GL 2.5.

Thats incredibly bright of you except if you had been reading the thread youd know theres been issues of the cfg getting updated with new versions.

Hey, no need to snap at me! We’re all just trying to help each other here!

I was discussing the new option to force 60fps, and I assumed it would be a new item added to the core options because m4xw said “added a full-speed core-option...” on Twitter. But if you think it’s something else, we’ll, sure. Could be, I have no idea.

No matter what, since this option only works on some games, I imagine you’d want to save it as a per game cfg and not global mupen cfg.

What cfg problems are you referring to anyway? Other than the maybe naming issue I don’t see anything related to this.

My bad, I took what you said the wrong way. Thought you were being sarcastic. Ignore what I said.

Shadowman seems to be working well with this new set up. I had graphics problems with it before.

Seeing a big improvement in two games Shadowman and Body Harvest so far.

Ah man I thought Jet Force Gemini was perfect, it was for some gameplay and some cutscenes. But then after a certain screen it's just a black screen with your character showing as white blob in the top left corner. Games broken.

OK I fixed it but it's a little laggy. These settings work pretty good for the games I've tried with 1-24 Retroarch.

CPU Core dynamic_recompiler
RSP Mode LLE
4:3 Resolution 1280x960
16:9 Resolution 1280x720
Aspect Ratio 16:9
Bilinear filtering mode standard
MSAA level 0
Frame Duplication True
Framerate Fullspeed
VI Refresh (Overclock) Auto
Noise Emulation True
Framebuffer emulation false
LOD Emulation True

I would list the rest but I didn't change of them so just default.

So no 16:9 adjusted then?

Well for me I had 3 games that weren't working with adjusted but as soon as I changed them to 16:9 they worked well, and all my games are working with 16:9 but I don't have a ton of n64 roms on retroarch Switch. Most of mine are injected on Wii U, in fact I'm only using switch for N64 games that can't be injected on Wii U. You'll just have to do trial and error.

Just thought I'd ask if someone knows of a setting to change to fix this on Turok 3. If I'm not facing an enemy that's offscreen it's perfect.

But when you face towards the direction of an enemy that's not even on the screen, you get this.

Every time you're facing towards an enemy that's in the direction you face you get that. It's very annoying and I had fixed it on a previous version of Mupen Next but I don't know what settings I changed. I thought I just changed 16:9 adjusted to 16:9 but I have it on 16:9 yet this is back.

Also how do you load per game settings? I only see where you can save per game settings.

One thing I'm very impressed by is that the vast majority of what I've thrown at this emulator actually boots. Coming from the Wii U scene that's kind of amazing. I would be happy to contibute to a compatiblity list once the author deems it appropriate. One thing I've noticed and in relation to the aforesaid is both of the rom hacks Ive tried to boot will not. I have attempted Majora's Mask Master Quest v1.2 and Super Mario 64 Multiplayer v1.4 and both show a black screen while loading like all other games and then goes back to Retroarch ui with the message "Failed to load content". Small potatoes compared to the something like 40 games that I've booted and for the most part work well, but odd given both base games seem to work without issue.
