I don't even own a Switch yet, mostly because I can't afford it now, but also because I am waiting to see if they make any good Paper Mario and what not. All I have right now is my 5-year-old nephew switch. DNS blocking would be ineffective, because one of these days, his mother, his father, his soon to be step father, his uncle, or anyone else could decide to connect it to their network. So I can't protect his Switch. I know you guys can't help me more than that, but you could sympathize with me that I am theoretically right. As for myself, I'm not sure if I ever will get a Switch. If I do, I don't know the state of the hacking at the time. I might have to buy a used system that was kept on older firmware. The more aggressive Nintendo is, the rarer and more expensive these will be. At a certain point, I may just say fuck it, and not buy a switch at all. I don't want that to happen. I know that if I take a long break from Nintendo waiting for game prices to come down or whatever, I will never come back. I just barely want to play these games at all. Truth is I don't like Nintendo games that much anymore. I hold onto hope that I will start liking them more, that they will get better again. Why is it so hard to just say, I agree, updates should be parental control restricted. That's all I'm really asking. You can't help me get the joy back. You can't protect my console. But you can say I am right.
