USB Loader GX forwarder channel for Wii U menu

This forwarder boot the vWii USB Loader GX channel installed into vWii menu, ideal for CBHC users that don't require Mocha or Haxchi sig patches, Haxchi users need boot sig patches before use it.

It's based on hbl2hbc from @FIX94 , it use it's own app though so doesn't interfere with hbl2hbc.elf

Installation

  1. On vWii install the "USB Loader GX - [UNEO] - vWii.wad" (if you already don't have it) with WiiMOD Lite or other wad manager for vWii, you find the wad it on "wads" folder. This channel points to "sd:/apps/usbloader_gx/boot.dol" or "usb:/apps/usbloader_gx/boot.dol".
  2. On Wii U extract the contents of the package on your SD.
  3. Install the forwarder channel on Wii U using WUP Installer Y mod or GX, remember you need sig patches to install!

Since you don't mention in your OP, is this with gamepad support? You mention USB though so I'd assume no gamepad support?

no, this is not a WiiU WiiVC channel.
this does NOT have gamepad support.
if it did you wouldn't be able launch Wii games from USBLoaderGX, because WiiU WiiVC are locked to a custom IOS and can't reload to cIOS249, and can't mount USB drives.
that would be unuseful, unless you use USBGX interface as Nintendont frontend to launch gamecube games on SD card.
Plus, it would be illegal to share it, as generated WiiU WiiVC channels contains a copyrighted file you can't share here. if you want, you can build one yourself using the loader's forwarder's dol and the injector tool. it will work only for nintendont frontend. (I didn't test yet, but users reported it boots. I'll add gamepad support later)

This channel is a WiiU homebrew channel, not a Virtual console channel.
It boots the console into vWii mode, then patch the system menu TitleID with another installed channel titleID.
it's a mod of HBL to HBC, used to launch the installed UNEO forwarder channel on vWii instead of HBC channel installed on vWii.

Hello. I have chbc with autoboot.
I downloaded the last uploaded version by chucholix on previous page, installed channel and everything else in place and after starting channel it hangs at Loading USB device. vWii app loads from vWii without any issues though.

Why does the channel hang?

maybe the USB doesn't have enough time to initialize.
Does the channel perform any different than the vWii app? I take it its just a forwarder.
Things load up pretty quickly when I just run from the vWii app. Not sure what’s wrong.

The wiiu channel is a forwarder to the vWii channel which itself is another forwarder to the dol on SD.
maybe the vwii HDD is not initialized correctly when launched from WiiU because it launches the forwarder channel on vWii too quickly? while launching vWii first let the vWii power the USB ports?

no idea. that's just supposition, because I don't know why launching the channel on vWii is different than launching it from a forwarder on Wiiu.

but it works fine for other users, so I don't know what's wrong with you.
your USB has y-cable ?

Link updated in OP, it seems it's working finally .___.
Gonna try this one later after work and post my findings. Thank you and Cyan as well.

****EDIT****

I re-installed everything included in Chucholix latest file. I still have the same problem with hanging at Loading USB Device.
My USB drive has always worked straight from vWii [UNEO] channel and I still don't understand why it hangs with this.
Yes it has a Y cable, its worked forever and its one of these

Thanks for your time, help and all but I will just have to resort to autobooting to vWii and running the channel from there. Goddamit :/

I installed everything apart from the WAD file. Is this needed as I thought the forwarder on the WiiU side looks for the location on the SD card.

I get the blue screen flash up, then a black screen with Wii on it, then it reboots back to the WiiU channel.

Any ideas

the forwarder channel on WiiU side is a modified vWii launcher channel.
The official one is doing this : launch vWii, then load the TitleID("system menu") located on vWii's NAND.
The USBLoaderGX channel is doing this : Launch vWii, then laod the TitleID("USBLoaderGX forwarder") located on vWii's NAND.

The "USBLoaderGX forwarder" channel still need to be present on your vWii.
It's the one responsible for loading the "boot.dol" located on SD:/apps/usbloader_gx/ folder.

This is what this thread is about.

There is a direct WiiU forwarder channel to load the SD's boot.dol, but the way it works it blocks a lot of features :
you can't reload to another cIOS (no d2x cIOS 249)
you can't use USB
you can't play wii games
you can't play wiiware or virtual consoles on emuNAND

But it allows you to:
Use WiiU gamepad in games!
use it to launch nintendont with games located on SD card.
And MAYBE (untested! or buggy) launch wiiware or virtual console on NAND.

This is that other thread you need to follow if you want this second version.

the loader?
you mean the forwarder?

You need :
the wiiu forwarder (to launch the vWii forwarder)
the vWii forwarder 5.1 fix
the loader on SD in sd:/apps/usbloader_gx/ folder

There's no "blue screen" on wii or wiiu.
