SEGA has put out a trailer for its upcoming modern Sonic game, Sonic Forces. This title is the 25th anniversary game for the Sonic franchise, despite releasing a year late. It appears to be a sequel to 2011's Sonic Generations, featuring both Classic and Modern Sonic. This specific trailer shows off Classic Sonic in a new rendition of Green Hill Zone. Sonic Forces is set to launch Holiday 2017, for Switch, PC, PS4, and XBO.

Didn't mind it in Sonic Cd much because the music was bad ass but it's annoying here especially with that horrible music.

It is awful isn't it? That noisiness in the tones makes my ears bleed.

Let's hope they're saving the real music for Sonic Mania since this sounds like shit.

Also I hate seeing Greenhill zone, where's the love for Emerald Hill? Infinitly better.

It's like New Super Mario Bros and a Mario 3D game. Except Sonic Mania is far superior to NSMB.

Sure, but you don't see Super Mario Odyssey having half the game also a New Super Mario Bros game. Nintendo (smartly) keeps them as separate titles, so as to not take value away from the experience of playing either considerably different style.

I have read people complaining about Sonic games since the Xbox 360 version and people praising the titles that were closer to the original deal (4, Colors, Mania). Maybe Sega should treat Sonic like Metal Slug and just release new Sonic games while changing nothing of the gameplay.

Sonic Forces is going to be like "Sonic Generations 2" while Sonic Mania goes back to its roots and keeps it faithful to the old days of Sonic 16bit.

I loved playing Sonic Mania's demo back in January and wish Sonic Mania would be confirmed to have a physical release so I could pre-order it.

Not many people praise 4 really. I think everyone liked the idea of 4, but they never got the physics quite right, and consequently both episodes were regarded by most as mediocre at best.

Maybe it's just me, or the way YT handled the footage with its compression and whatnot, but the footage was hurting my eyes. It was one thing when it was fully 2D\, but the speed, lighting, even grass detail, and such at high speeds in 3D was beginning to give me a headache.

High speeds? It was slow af, it looks even worse than legs disabled sonic.
