Hello everyone.

I was wondering if someone could give me some tips.

I am trying to install the retroarch.vpk as I would any other vpk through molecular shell and it just sits there at installing 0% for quiet a long time.

Its not frozen, but its just not installing.

I had originally tried to do it through homebrew browser, then decided to just use the vpk through filezilla but same thing happened. Its 131 mbs so im not sure if thats the issue.

I checked that I had enough space.

Is there a trick here?

Thank you in advance.

You have to wait a while, there are many folders to install and extract. Even after reducing the vpk to 20MB it still takes several minutes to install.

I waited for 10 minutes and it never went up from 0%.

Youre saying it takes longer than that for it to go up to even 1%?

I just noticed the one here is more up to date than the one i was trying, maybe i should just use the one from the first post and install one by one of the ones I need instead of the all in one installer?

Thanks again

Well there are a lot of files, alternatively you can just extract it all to a folder on your PC then copy that over and install that which is quicker.

I dont know I appreciate your advice but I definitely think something is wrong.

It shouldnt take 10+ minutes to not do anything at all.

I tried putting them in individually and they all failed to transfer into filezilla.

So not sure whats going on :/

I had a similar issue with Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 since it just sat there for a long time.

Anyways, I recommend just using VitaShell and connecting it to your PC so you don't need to use your internet to transfer things.

No, VitaShell is mostly used to install games/homebrew and general usage while molecularshell is for system stuff such as enabling firmware spoofing and other things but you're free to use either since they both can connect to the PC through the USB now so it's quick and easy to transfer things.

It's cool, we all got to start somewhere.

Well I finally got soemthing to work.

I tried just doing one by one, snes first.

It also sat at 0% for a bit but only like a minute or two and then started going slowly.

Man How do you ever do the PS1 roms then? Arent those 200-800mbs?

I don't know what you are doing but things transfer quickly for me, although I only tested a few games since while the emulator is good it still has bugs.

Copying files through USB is much faster than installing VPKs.

That one I actually did through vitashare as usb and just copied it into folder then backed out.

The installing though is what's taking forever.

Or maybe im confused here....Because you have to install the VPK regardless if you transferred the file through FTP or USB, no?

The PCSX and SNEX both took about 3-5 minutes to install. The transfer itself was instantaneous.

In terms of games do they have to be .vpk too?

To make installing easier, rename the .vpk so it's .zip then extract it to your PC then copy the folder to your Vita then select the folder hit triangle then go to more and install folder, that should speed up the installation.

SUCK FREAKING SESS!!!

I am now playing chrono trigger.

thanks for your help fellas!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Although I am noticing I try to save and it just restarts the game.

Is there a way around this?

Im using L R SELECT START together then save on state 0, it just restarts.

Same thing if i decide to not save and just click resume it also restarts game.

Loading also restarts the game so it did not actually save.

I downloaded the stable build in first post V 1.4.1

Are you saying your version allows you to save and load progression?

If so are you using the emulator save and load slots or the in-game save mechanism?

Try changing the escape button combo to L R Down Y

The start select version may be reseting the snes core
