Understanding level, self taught moonrune reader here. I've translated lighter stuff here and there mostly doujin and images. Can't translate real fast, but I can say that I played through the story in full JP and understood it quite well(with more than a little help from a kanji dictionary every once in a while). I'd welcome the practice, if you'll have me.

I've got the game installed, and updated to 1.05, and I've copied the patch file to ux0:app/PCSG00351/ but the game is still entirely in Japanese. I'm using a version dumped with Mai not Vitamin, but I don't think that would affect it?

Yes use vitamin, the patch doesn't work with mai version.

Just installed a fresh download of the patch from arks layer and on the title screen it tells me the patch is a debug build? was that intentional or someone uploaded the wrong version?

It was a mistake, but it is the latest version of the patch. AIDA just forgot to remove that message from the title screen before uploading it.

So I've installed the PSNOVA vpk (VT 2.0) and the 1.05 update vpk (also VT 2.0) and downloaded the newest eng patch (V 0.83). But when I copy the cpk to app/PCSG00351 and overwrite, the title menus and everything are still in full Japanese I've tried about a million different things and nothing has fixed it so far. Any ideas? I'm so keen to play this! Cheers

Edit: What's more, having updated the vpk and replaced the cpk file, loading the game gives me the dreaded NP-6182-7 error and nothing I've searched has helped to fix it. Maidump copy has given me no problems, always loads but the patch of course doesn't, being a VT exclusive. I'm losing the battle lol

Yeah, for some reason, I don't know if it's PSTV or VitaShell related, but when you install a UPDATE VPK, it will replace the files in the APP folder instead of installing them in the PATCH folder.
The best way of action is: Open the VPK of the UPDATE in WinZIP or WinRAR (VPK are ZIP files essentially), and extract the content to the folder of the APP. But make sure you install the maingame VPK file first. Basically, apply the UPDATE manually and directly into the folder of the game, NOT in the PATCH folder. After applying the update, apply the english patch in the same way.

Also, optionally, you can make the game ID folder inside ux0atch/ and inside the game ID folder make a "sce_sys" folder then just copy the "changeinfo" folder from the game app/sce_sys folder to it and you will have the Update History when you press Triangle on the game bubble.
