There's still no one can confirm preloads do come with the ticket, the icon doesn't necessarily come this way.

3GB update is sheer speculation since the thing we downloaded from NUS is 9.82GB, different from reported 13GB, but I really don't think a 3GB update does exist. It also says for the disc version a portion of the game data needs to be installed, required internal or USB storage space is 3GB, how strange those numbers match huh? Well in normal sense the download version shouldn't need to be installed, but this is my speculation: the download version still install that 3GB of data.

Another possibility is the 9.82GB we downloaded is not the real thing.

I was thinking that. What IF was just a bait?

We dont know if that infact is the game or part of the game.

Preloads do come with a ticket. The preload of Paper Mario Color Splash came with one, which had the title key.
That was enough to play the game early using Loadiine.

There's been footage and screenshots of the Switch version, but there hasn't been any of the Wii U version since Game Awards 2016.

Because the Switch version is vastly superior in graphics power. And they are pushing their newest system. Why would they even bother showing the lower-quality, dead console Wii U version at all?

They've said it's comming for Wii U, you can order it for Wii U, it will be available. Stop the sad attempt at trolling.

Do you realize how ridiculous that premise is? If Ninty silently killed BotW for Wii U, it would be a ****storm which would alienate a great deal of fans.

Anyways, moving on. I'm sure we'll get the game at some point. Whenever it's a leak before launch day or if it's an upload on launch day. When we get it, we'll have it. ^^

Also, if anyone manages to get their hands on the Wii U version of BotW a few days before launch, I'd be delighted.

Nope.
In a statement provided to IGN, Nintendo explained the following “key facts” about each version:

  • Both launch on the same day, March 3.
  • Both have a frame rate of 30fps.
  • Both versions of the game offer the same content.
  • On a TV, the Nintendo Switch version of the game renders in 900p while the Wii U version renders in 720p.
  • The Nintendo Switch version has higher-quality environmental sounds. As a result, the sound of steps, water, grass, etc. are more realistic and enhance the game’s Open-Air feel.
  • The physical copy of the Wii U version will require 3GB of available memory on the Wii U system or an external drive.
  • Some icons, such as onscreen buttons, differ between the two versions.
  • A Special Edition and Master Edition of the Wii U version are not available.
