Congratulations on bumping an 8 month old thread to berate people who have long since forgotten about it.

The age of the thread is irrelevant. If you Google for the answer to whether or not the 3DS works with 256gb cards, this thread comes up. This is how I found it. No doubt others have come here before me looking for the answer to this question as well, and as will more in the future.

So congratulations to you on not knowing how the internet works.

I own a 256gb for my n3ds and it works great.

Thanks. :)

The age of the thread is very relevant.
The OP is banned, and it's long since answered.

It's not like you provided an answer or followup on an obscure question that comes up in Google results (a potentially valid reason).
You came in and berated people. Congrats, your pointless bump is now on the Google results; what did you accomplish?

Another Einstein enters the fray.

So you're wondering why I didn't provide the answer after coming here from Google where I had been searching for the answer...

Would I really be searching for the answer on Google if I already knew what it was?

No, I think I'm done here.

I never said you needed to provide an answer, at all.
The answer is already in here.

I said that if you were providing an answer to an obscure question, then you'd have a potentially good reason to necro.
This isn't an obscure question, at all.

What you provided, was berating the posters of an 8-month-old thread for not giving them the answer you wanted immediately.
...when said OP is now banned and nobody else cared about this thread at all.

Where and how much did you buy your 256 GB micro SDXC card for? If you're getting prices less than $90-$100, that seems suspiciously too low/sounds too good to be true.

I have not currently purchased a card. I just hacked my 3DS and I am going to calculate how much storage I will need.

Amazon currently has a card, $82.99 for a Sandisk SDSQUAR-256G-GN6MA. I consider that cheap for my tastes, considering the value it will offer me...

Edit: The SD card in your signature is also an interesting option. SDSDQAD-200GB-2100E

I'm also being a necro just to say I agree with g4r37h. I came looking for an answer(years later) and a dead ass post gave me answers after I read around the bias opinions and got the answer AFTER g4r37h commented. Not only that people are still commenting helpful information even if the post is dead.

I’ve tested every SanDisk Ultra Plus microSD card up to 400 GB in a 3DS and Wii U. They all work fine.

Only thing to be aware of is once you hit the 128 GB size you will notice slow down on booting your 3DS and some in menu slowness. Nothing deal breaking in my opinion.

I didn't notice a difference in startup times between a 128 GB and a 32 GB card, I tried it yesterday. Not sure if there is any difference between cards, but it was not something I experienced in my test. That being said, if I were to buy a card today, I'd go for a 64 GB card. They are now as cheap as below 20€.

Sorry for posting at this thread, but not wanna post my own. Is some one have working 3ds with 256GB card?
Plenty of 3DS users have 256 GB cards. You have to be careful these days because of fake flash memory products. If you buy one and before using it, do a Full Write + Verify Test in H2testw.

Because it meets the minimum 128 GB capacity, you may format the 256 GB card in FAT32 + 64 KB cluster size.
Cards that are 64 GB and smaller should stick to FAT32 + 32 KB cluster size.

Thanks for reply, good to know that it will work. I am not worried about card since i have good source, I have bought 2x 256GB for my Switch & Vita, all tested with this software that you mention.
