Gaming Suggest a good jrpg

Last generation was really interesting for me, there were many JRPG titles that I enjoyed such as Xenoblade, the last story, lost odyssey, magna carta 2, tales of vesperia and probably more. Even if I never finished some of them, I still had many of gameplay on all of them. As for this gen I went with a ps4 since most of the titles are becoming multiplatform. So far I have tried tales of zestiria, FF XV and Dragon Quest Heroes (which isn't a jrpg per say, but I didn't know that at the time of buying). None of them have managed to get me hooked.

Is there a good solid jrpg on ps4 that you would recommend?


edit: If there is a title on the wii U that you think meets my standards then you could also recommend that.

Regarding Wii U... I don't know.
I have both Xenoblade Chronicles X and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE since day 0, and I haven't played them that much (lack of time also)
I can't think of other JRPGs on Wii U.
Xenoblade X has interesting gameplay and a lot to explore, but I felt it got too complicated without explaining the systems and the story sure didn't hook me up like the old Xenoblade's, and also the music is so much worse. But perhaps it is a good game.
Regarding Tokyo Mirage, the story is somewhat generic but the gameplay and style may be interesting to you of you like SMT/Persona. I'm going to play it one day, but TBH I enjoyed FFXV way more, and it disappointed.

PS: is this a recommendation or anti recommendation?

Well, i thought I'd give Xenoblade Chronicles X a go, but atm I'm looking for a more traditional jrpg, not one that revolves around fetching quests. I didn't last 1 hour playing FFXV, I think I puked when I saw cindy or what's her name, and then I realized that this was another mmo-styled FF, so yeah it went right back to its case...
Btw your avatar, is that from monster or 20th century boys? Both great manga anyway.

Whoops didn't read that part. I have no clue since I don't have a ps4, but they are on psn as a ps2 classics on my ps3. Persona 5 is coming to ps4 in April, so you should play as well.

Ni no Kuni II is coming out soon for PS4! Pretty hyped for that one. The art style is by studio ghibli, so of course it looks amazing.

I'm totally looking forward to try this one too ! Actually, didn't they say they'll release a PS4 port of the first one with the release of the second one ? Like with Bayonetta on Wii U ?

Now we just need mods for other final fantasy games to replace cid with cindy, and make her bigger than tifa.

As for ps4 JRPG, i don't have many, There is a game called Rogue galaxy on Playstation store, is a PS2 Game ported to the system but is a damn good one, i recommend it. $15 but sometimes on sale.

Another is pier solar and the great architects, a game released for genesis in 2010 by watermelon which served as a homebrew game on 8MB cart making it impressive legacy that got HD ports to all consoles, If you buy on ps4 you can also play on ps3 for one price. Sadly there is no vita game and you can't transfer saves.

I recently bought megadementions neptunia but haven't played it to be honest so no comments, it was $5 on sale so it was cheap.

There is also Dragon fantasy black tome of ice as well, is fairly taditional jrpg so it should be okay if you like the turn based battle system.

Tales series are known to have hit and miss titles but only two exist on ps4 as i know (Next one due to release soon.)

Final fantasy X HD and Final fantasy VII is also on ps4 HD enhanced, but maybe you wanna wait for the REMASTER

I would suggest kingdom hearts, 3 HD Collection games 1.5 2.5 and 2.8 is due to release soon, but is not a classic JRPG, since is not turn based, is more of action adventure game probably like Zelda series but with RPG elements. You may enjoy this a bit more than final fanasy XV.

There is quite a few, you just have to look. Check the store, some are digital only. Like the saturday morning rpg, i think is a port of a indie android game but is still worth trying.

ni no kuni was a solid jrpg, I really enjoyed playing that one for as long as I did. In the end it felt a bit childish for my taste, but it was definitely a well-made game. So I might check out the sequel when it comes out.

I'm not holding my breath for the FFVII remake, not eager to find out how square-enix will screw this one up or for how long will the delay the first episode...

I don't think Megadementions neptunia or tales or zestria or bertseria are ports. But if you say so. If you were looking for PS4 EXCLUSIVE content of RPG then you aren't gonna find any. You asked about Good JRPG if you has specified i guess my response would been different.
