Thoughts on this?

Finally someone else following Spawn Wave. I got the Foxconn leak from him before viewing the source.
Something to clarify: I was wrong on the 3gb limit on Tegra X1. When I tried to purchase the board last year I did remember it being 3GB though.
Jetson TX1 has ports entirely dedicated to auto drive which the switch won't be needing, and the switch devkits likely have more gaming focused i/o options.
There is a rumour when it's still the nx with it being an overclocked x1 the board to get things running and then the Foxconn leak talks about a new version just produced after switch reveal, before the original post was shut down for some reason.
I believe it will performance will be close to Surface Book's dgpu docked, or rather intel's iris 540.

Yeah poor WiiU owners have been waiting eons for this game, as somebody only interested in Switch I feel like I cheated and jumped the line.
Indeed, ill probably play BOTW on the Wii U but once some interesting games come out on switch I'll be picking it up there.

There's hope for a Xenosaga port.

The Wii U fiasco really makes me mad.
I think I should complete the few unfinished games I have on the system, give it as a gift to some friend, and forget it ever existed.
Then I get a Switch full of hope and get probably just ports of the same games I already had, finally coming here grumpy in a couple of years with the same complaints making a full circle, because you know, the odds for a pessimistic are that Nintendo will dissapoint again.

So a Tegra X1 CPU is downclocked to 1020mhz in battery and dock mode (Stock X1 CPU is 1.9ghz) GPU is downclocked to 768mhz in docked mode, and 307.2mhz in battery mode (stock X1 GPU is 1ghz).

With this performance category, I can't see how Nintendo will get much 3rd party support. A 3rd party would have to develop for Nintendo specifically, as they can't expect any performance parity with XB1 PS4, not a worthwhile prospect for 3rd part devs. Truly, Nintendo needed to secure 3rd party interest for success this generation, seems like they've moved in the wrong direction.

Which means it's possibly bs. Even a53 hit beyond 1500MHz with low power configuration, or denver 2 which is gooe enough, but its huge die is problematic. Downclock suggest a bigger gpu, possibly stacked, to improve thermal capacity.
@TheDarkGreninja Already confirmed it to be able to handle 1080p mid setting, so the specs don't match right now.

The HW speculation will go on and on and on after 12... neither Nintendo or Nvidia will oficialize the Switch specs

If we have lucky, we will know screen size, SD sizes and types supported, HDD interface and sizes supported... and few more

I'm sure we'll have all the info we need to draw conclusions after the Jan 12 event. This is their big pitch to actually sell the thing. Pre-orders will probably go live very shortly after the presentation, so I doubt it'll be super vague.

I wonder what nintendo is going to do about region lock in switch... Probably almost all users want that removed but unfortunately it's nintendo we're talking about so i expect the worse.

The recent story of Nintendo shows they doesn't compite on Hw level, so I think they will not say, for example:
- CPU/GPU model and power
- RAM available

So the speculation will continue until near the launch date when a reviewer or "early adopter" disassembly the console and give us the info.

At 12 I think they will say:
- Price
- Launch day line-up
- Eshop replace system maybe
- Controllers and other usability features of the console.

Again... this is my opinion and pure and simple speculation too... so the best thing we can do is wait to the 12 and see... so, so late in my country... I see the event live at Jan 13, 01:00 AM (GMT -3)
