I have A9LH with Luma3DS and I want to post some stuff on Miiverse and maybe cheat just once for test in Mario Kart 7 multiplayer. I don't want my sysNAND to get banned, so can I make an emuNAND which will get banned but sysNAND will be untouched?

I've heard that you can unban your 3DS. Can I unban a device ID ban?
Btw I don't have a second 3DS and my 3DS is New 3DS.

I think there might be a way, but it does require another 3ds with arm9 because you would need to dump a system file from the second 3ds and inject that file into your main 3ds.

it is more risky to get another ban because if someone bans that id, yours gets banned as well. also Nintendo has banned those ids if too many people use it.
Oh, okay, but back to the main thread. If I will make an emuNAND, will it have a different NNID or the same as my sysNAND?

By default emunand is a copy of sysnand, but this can be changed

Note that by default they will still be traceable due to the secureinfo/localfriendcodeseed

Also using a NNID on 3DS is a ripoff unless you really want to use memeverse/badge arcade

I don't really understand what do you mean by "using a NNID on 3DS is a ripoff"... and yes, I really want to use memeverse.

By using a NNID, you can't change your country setting anymore (like if you want to access a country-locked Nintendo Zone event, it will tell you to open eshop to complete the country change, and eshop will say no because the country is not the one registered in the NNID)

No download of free apps? Bullshit restriction artificially added to get people on the NNID system

Want to post on Miiverse? Well yes, you're gonna need a NNID then, but the above disadvantage still exists. It's up to you to choose what's better for you anyway :)

What above said is true, you only need am nnid to make a purchase, not download something that's already free.

But on topic, despite emunand being separate from sysnand in most ways, certian system files stay constant, one of the most important being your local friend code seeds. no matter what, they never change on their own. We can't simply just make one up either, because each one is registered to Nintendo's servers on manufacture.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
