@GerbilSoft @FIX94 wich is the standard/default video mode that is suggested to boot most of the Pal games in Nintendont?
I need it to know for the compatibility list.
Standard/default mode for PAL games would be PAL, wouldn't it?

i wouldnt risk it and you can find oriignal ones on ebay for less than 10 bucksDon't worry using an original Wii with GC ports.
I've been researching it all and I've been able to find one person who mentioned using a 3rd party link cable that worked but there's really not much on the topic.
Do you think it's worth trying out a 3rd party cable? Finding official cables can be hard and expensive.
Is not simple as NTSC.Standard/default mode for PAL games would be PAL, wouldn't it?
One would assume PAL50 for all and possibly PAL60 on certain games?
I use an old CRT TV so prefer to just look for NTSC titles when possible for a guaranteed 60Hz.
Trying to force video modes generally ends up flickering like mad instead of reducing the flicker.

They're more expensive because I'm Aussie, ended up getting one for around $22(AUD) / $16.5(USD). Had to find another one because the one you linked had some expensive postage here. It's legit (or at least I hope it is XD) and if it doesn't work for me I can return within 60 days get a refund. But'll take 10-25 days to get here because holiday season.i wouldnt risk it and you can find oriignal ones on ebay for less than 10 bucks

"None" and "Auto" I think are the same - they select the video mode based on disc region. Is not simple as NTSC.
There are three options for PAL: "PAL50" (576i 50hz), "PAL60" (480i 60hz), "MPAL" (and i don't know what it means), plus the options "none" and "auto".
Based merely on the disc region/title id or taken from the dol?"None" and "Auto" I think are the same - they select the video mode based on disc region.
obviosuly by the game id since each game has its own id on the first few bits or the iso.Based merely on the disc region/title id or taken from the dol?

Yeah, i meant from the bin excuse me, my mistake. So isn't taken from the title id in the iso.hdr file as pedro702 said. It's in bi.bin, not the dol. (@ 0x0458 in the ISO)
yes, if you edit the title header and change the region letter then nintendont wont know what region the game is for and will probably use the wrong videocode. So if the title id is edited from the header is possible that the video mode cannot be detected or wrong detected.
Are you sure? Greywolf is talking about the bi.bin.yes, if you edit the title header and change the region letter then nintendont wont know what region the game is for and will probably use the wrong videocode.
just go right ahead open your iso on hex edit and change the region letter to a random letter and then try the game and you will see.Are you sure? Greywolf is talking about the bi.bin.

you can change that with a simple hexeditor no need to rebuild anything, heck there is a gc unlicensed game wich the title escapes me know and its a ntsc game but the region letter is pal and for it to boot in nintendont you need to change the letter to match ntsc region and save, i did this before, same with some older demos wich have wierd letter on the gameid and you needed toc hange them to ntsc letter or PAL.I was asking because i cannot do it right now (my pc is broken). I will do it when it's possible, thank you
@pedro702 are you sure that is possible to change it with an hex editor directly from the iso? (And i can do it my tablet).
Beacuse i think that is not so simple and gcrebuilder (or similar) is needed to extract the iso.hdr file that needs to be edited.

but btw is there any motive that you want to change the region? becuase if its an ntsc game and you change to pal the game will break and viceversa, there isnt any use to this besides the ones i wrotte abode.
It can be, but the Gamecube reads it from bi2.bin as far as I know. That's what the console sets the video mode by, not the title ID. I still don't understand what you're trying to do, though.
There is any reason, i was just curious and i like to know more about Nintendont and how it works.
The only reason to change a title id in my experience is in the savegames: most of the time i use to convert my old pal savegames from my 2002 memory card in ntsc if the ntsc version of the game is better (as an example when the pal cannot be forced in 480p but the ntsc can) or converting ntsc downloaded savegames (for example savegames where everything is unlocked) if a pairing pal savegame isn't available.

well changing region on the saves is diferent from changing region on the ios. There is any reason, i was just curious and i like to know more about Nintendont and how it works.
