I have seen a red screen on my wiiU controller yes and on the TV the wiiU logo and it installed correctly now what
I boot the fw.img through cfw booter and I'm staying on home menu. About the mac adress what do I even do with it here? it's no use
Run backup.py in wuphax-v1.0. Make sure the IP in wupserver.py (line 29) is the same IP as your Wii U's IP.
In fact, tell me the IP. It should be 192.168.xxx.xxx (with the X being any number)
If you can access your router's web page (by typing in its IP), you can check the IP through finding the MAC Address. I'm stumped, maybe you should wait for someone with more knowledge than me to help. But just in case, do you see the red screen when you boot the fw.img?

OK so the ip are all set and correct my SD cards in the wii and turned on I'm on the wiiU main menu I changed the ip on wupclient tried to run the backup Py opens up say connecting to wup server then closes

Wait for it to be done, and turn off the Wii U, unplug it, plug it in, and turn it back on. Go into Wii mode, and load the Mii Channel.

So do I need anything else to run wii backups like certain ios for Wii flow or USB loader
USB Loader GX doesn't need a custom IOS. CFG USB Loader (and maybe WiiFlow) needs a custom IOS.
Just follow this guide and you should be set. Make sure you run restore.py to get the Mii Channel back.
Like flzmx said just follow that guide. It's very detailed and has all the files you need. I'd say skip the NAND dump since you won't brick the vwii unless you do something really stupid. Installing backups and homebrew poses no danger. Also recovering a vWii brick requires using hardware to flash the NAND. You can also skip the portions that involve installing the homebrew channel since you did wuphax.
Really? I always thought it did. Well he might as well just follow the guide and install the cIOSes anyway.

You may need to change the IP address in wupserver.py again. By default devices are set to obtain IP addresses automatically from your router. Meaning that when when a device connects it asks the router for an IP address and the router assigns it the first available out of the range it's set to assign. So your Wii U's IP address might no longer match what your entered in wupserver.py. If that's not the issue then I can't be of much more help as I don't have any experience using wupserver.

Are you on wupserver on the home screen? How did backup.py work?
You should have a 00000001.app in the same folder as backup.py or restore.py. If you don't have it, then you can't restore the Mii Channel unless you have another Wii U that you're willing to modify.

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.+1
