idk if pkhex will XY/ORAS uses .PK6 SUMO uses .PK7 respectivly but the data is far different and a simple extention change won't do when B/W came out someone made a converter tool (which was implimented in pokegen and later pkhex) to add the bytes that were changed from gen 4---->gen 5

This feels kinda bullshit. You never had to wait a month before you could transfer. And couldn't they prepare the pokebank update to launch along with the game?

They actually added another digit to SuMo IDs? When I saw it on PKHex, I thought it was just some way to make sure you don't hit a boundary number, basically no limits. So while you can import through PKHex, I'm now curious how the legit way will be. I guess add a 0 in front of the 5 digit ID numbers.

wrong, TID/SID is still stored the same way but the real G7TID is only visible if you hover over the textbox.

G7TID includes bits from the SID bits of gens past.
wrong, in game a pokemon imported from .pk6 only shows 5 digits instead of 6

god, how dense are you.

You realise Kaphotics make PKHex right?

Anyhow he is right.

TID/SID is stored THE EXACT SAME WAY.

Difference is Sun/Moon is programmed to check if a Pokemon is caught in SM,
it'll use a new calculation using TIDSID to show you 6 digit Trainer ID.

with TrainerID = TID&SID,
New trainerid = (trainerid + (((Math.Floor(trainerid / 1000000) * -15625) << 6)))

if i knew that in the first place i wouldn't have disagreed, but my original statement is still correct, a gen 6 pokemon only shows 5 digits instead of 6 in s/m

EDIT: we've gone offtopic, i've confirmed that you can import a pk6 into s/m and it works fine. case closed

Well I don't blame you, I guess you don't follow the pkmn hacking scene.

you said "the 6th digit just doesn't show"
there's no 6th digit (to show).

Anyhow, while the format is mostly unchanged, who knows what shenanigans Pokemon Bank will pull during transfer?

Step 1: Get Homebrew through your favorite method. For me, that is GenHax, which can be found here (requires Monster Hunter Generations, however there are other methods which can be found here)
Step 2: Download this homebrew and run it through the homebrew launcher. When it asks you to target a game, target the free PokeBank application that can be found in the Nintendo eShop
Step 3: Make sure that your game cartridge is in there, and if you have the digital copy, remove any game cart (just to be safe) and pick the game you want to take pokemon from (OrAs, XY, etc.)
Step 4: Under the "Editor" tab, there is an option to use an offline bank. Transfer the desired pokemon from the game to the bank (Press A on them, press X to switch to the bank, press A again to drop pokemon into the bank)
Step 5: Exit the bank (Hit A to save changes to bank.bin or else you lose the pokemon, then hit B until you see "Event, Editor, Other" on the bottom screen and hit the start button. It will say "Save game." Hit the A button.
Step 6: Relaunch PKSM, and select your sun or moon copy this time. (Game cart or digital has to be in/on the 3ds)
Step 7: Head back to the bank, and this time take pokemon from there into your game.
Step 8: Save bank.bin (Hit A), B button back to (Events, Editor, Other), press Start, A to save.
Step 9: Launch your Sun/Moon copy and the pokemon should be inside the box

Is there currently any way to transfer your pokemon to the new generation?
Method One: HAX!!!
1) Have a 3DS with CFW
2) Install JKSV
3) Download the latest release of PKHeX
4) Extract your Sun, Moon, X, Y, OR, or AS save with JKSV
5) COPY your save to your desktop, open both your Sun/Moon save in one PKHeX instance, and your X/Y.OR/AS save in the other.
6) Drag & Drop the Pokemon you intend to transfer. If you don't wish to CLONE the Pokemon to Sun and Moon, save both mains, otherwise just save the Sun/Moon main.
7) Create a new folder in the JKSV Saves folder named Pokemon_Moon-Edited or Pokemon_Sun-Edited
8) Import your Pokemon_Moon-Edited or Pokemon_Sun-Edited save back into your game.
If your game save is corrupted, or fails to start, restore your save from the original Pokemon_Moon JKSV Dump and try again.

Method Two: $4.99 Please!
1) Have a 3DS that is NOT BANNED (Important!)
2) Have a NNID that is NOT BANNED and linked to your 3DS that's NOT BANNED
3) Download PokeBank
4) Wait till January for the Sun and Moon Update
5) Cough up Five Bucks for the privilage to transfer your Pokemon from Gen 6 to Gen 7
6) CONGRATION YOU DONE IT!

@K3Nv2 that's crazily expensive. how long will that take to pay off?

Although diet is largely education, people don't need to go to university to learn what's healthy and what's not,
it's the whole country, big corporations and advertising that is to blame for leading most of the population to believe that poptarts and froot loops are healthy to feed a child

As someone who went through the grade school system in the US some time within the past 30 or so years, not nearly enough is done to promote and educate on how to eat healthy in a way that is feasible to do on a regular basis and also affordable. Eating healthy is, comparatively, fucking expensive. So is eating unhealthy, but in many cases eating unhealthy is more affordable than eating healthy

@Sicklyboy I agree, but also it's about self control and realistic thinking. We wouldn't feed a dog soda, so why feed it to ourselves? Eating unhealthy food because it's cheap is one thing, but I'm sure you know people who drink soda routinely when they should be drinking water which is free.
I get it can feel mean to say "no treat sweet beverage for you anymore" but for many people it's just in their way of life.
