Edit: the pre-download is now available in every region.

Just fyi, the pre-download for Pokémon Sun and Moon is already up in JP and AUS, so probably will be in Europe and the Americas in the following hours.

And yes, that means the title key has been released, however, we still need the seed to decrypt the game, and Nintendo releases the seed on November 18th.

Can someone explain why the seed is required?

If I understand correctly this means we have access to all the game data, but no way to decrypt it. Although I thought we were at that point when we had no access to the title key. What is the difference between now and back then?

The seed is needed to get past the other layer of encryption so we can play the game. Basically the titlekey at this point allows anyone to download something that will be actually usable that isn't garbage

so i can download the game from the servers and play it when we get the seed without having to download it and install it

probably. that depends on someone who pre-purchased the game to upload the titlekey.
