Well I'm dumb haha.
Yeah that was it, it now boots into the animation and into Doom... Sorta.
I get the message:

Welcome Shadow!
This is DS DOOM Build 1.2.1

And just stays on that screen. Don't know what to do from there.

Oh I did press A and every other button available on the N3DS, but doesn't go pass that screen.
I read something about a patch or something, don't know.
I'll see what else I can do.

Mmmm not that I recall.
When I boot it the DS animation appears (DSi to be exact) and then it boots directly to the black screen with the text I posted previously letter-by-letter.
Nothing else outside of that.

Check the 3DS SD Card. Look for "sd:/_dstwofwd/autoboot.ini".

I deleted all the relevant folders on both of my SD cards and moved them over again, and the problem seems to have fixed itself. Thanks!

@tima25 Try launcing this with my bootstrap. If the WoodR4 menu doesn't come up then there's an issue with your card/MicroSD/It just plain won't ever work. I decrypted the _DS_MENU.DAT file you linked and it booted my R4 just fine...

Ok so the WoodR4 menu comes up but its unusable, you can see picture in my previous post.

I got it to work! So I used the WoodR4 you gave me and used your compiled NTR Bootstrap. It seems my flashcart microSD card was the problem. I used a 8Gb microSD but partitioned it so that the active partition was under 2 Gb. I guess the R4 didn't like that. Thanks for all the help!!!

sorry for quote, i tried same, i have same program settings, all files are in right position (i think the OP file for loading directly from 3ds sd is the _sdfwd directory), but i have a white screen after dsi boot logo using luma on latest eminand

Was "Games are on SD card" checked, and you dragged the .nds file from the SD card to the app window?

surely, option on program checked and nds doom file dragged directly from sd card (program files were there too); sorry for the ignorance, have i to use a ntr launcher or something like that? thanks

Sounds like you did everything right. Try opening the .argv file in the _sdfwd folder with a text editor.

Original R4 doesn't support SDHC cards. Even partitioning one down to 2GB won't work I believe. You have to use a 2GB card. In theory there are 4GB non SDHC cards, but I've only ever seen a fullsize SD using that capacity. No MicroSD non SDHC 4GB cards I've seen.

@tima25 Can you test my CIA again, since you got the R4 working? Make sure you still have YSMenu.nds in the flashcard root.
