Well, since they're using an outdated kernel, they don't need a arm11 exploit hacked in if they already have it officially...
Friends driver is also not part of the kernel, so by updating emunand there's also no need for such a patch!

There are plenty of reasons. FIRM protection, SVC patching for things like dynaRec used by some emulators, it is maintained by someone with better proficiency at C (look at the Git repositories and compare for yourself if you don't take my word for it), a larger network of user-to-user support, friends module patching, and region emulation.
There will be a rude awakening one day in a future update for people using firmwares lacking FIRM protection. And then it will be abundantly clear that you ignored the countless warnings.
The developer behind rxTools DOES NOT CARE about FIRM protection. And if FIRM is overwritten by a future update you will NOT be able to CFW that 3DS unit again until a new kernel exploit is found. And there is no guarantee that one would be. There still isn't one for 11.0 despite it being out for months.
I have only owned a 3DS since late June. Before that time I knew nothing about the 3DS modding scene. Yet I managed to use A9LH and Luma3DS right off the bat by following Plailect's guide, and that was back when it was at least 5 pages. It's been much more streamlined since then.

I don't think it's the developers who don't care about it, it's that the developers aren't working on rxTools anymore. I think one of them told me that interest was lost in the project due to things like Luma becoming more popular, and rxTools being too slow at updating.
also, FIRM protection only matters if you're using it from arm9loaderhax. nobody is using rxTools from a9lh.
I just listed plenty of good reason to stop using RXTools. Also you appear to be the "fanboy." Despite having all the problems with RXTools spelled out for you and fully knowing RXTools is buggy and no longer in active development, you proceed to refuse to update. Then when someone points out these flaws, you lash out against them.
I am not the one who is a "fanboy" nor am I the one who is wrong here. RXTools is dead and reasons to no longer use is are extremely valid.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother. They know rxTools is outdated. They know Luma3DS is better. They know they should be updating at least to a Menuhax setup (lol MSET in 2016). The know A9LH install is safe and has many benefits.
If problems start to arise with rxTools, they knew it was coming. They know what to do.

You can edit the info that you write while writing the payload in the mset, anyway you need to edit the source, compile it, and this doesn't mean that people should still use it lol. A9LH forever!

I think this thread is a lost cause already. If they want to keep their setup, then let them keep it. They probly already know the consequences of having an outdated CFW. When their system stops functioning normally, that's our cue to laugh at them.

I don't think you understand the point in this thread... People care about helping, we cant help people when they think that rxtools can be redeemed, and get salty because our solution is to ditch the crappy cfw they are using
You will get far better results with Luma3DS and Gatewaywell i'm Gateway user, but i sometimes use Rxtool with latest OFW just to play my 20+ original cartridges
Although, Gateway is a real can of warms on it's own.
And maybe because you are still Grilling*.

Hmm. I feel like RXTools is kind of like the "gateway" to CFW. Most people I know started with RXTools and eventually went to reiNAND, Cakes, Aurei, then Luma. Even when I started using it last year I could never get it to work properly and never actually used the tools, just RXmode. However, I feel like it was a good thing to have as a learning tool so to speak. Of course you can learn your way around an emu/sysNand with any CFW but I felt like the bugs with RXTools being outdated forced me to troubleshoot simple things and in the process learn more about how it actually works and what's best for me. Eventually I went to Luma+A9LH and never looked back but I still appreciate RXTools for it's "tough love".
Couple of years from now on, people are still using RXtools.
Much like there's still noobs on 3.55 kmeaw, 5.50 m33-5 and 7371 JTAG.
Why? because noobs are to scared to update, thinking they'd break something, or people just forgot they have a hacked console and enter back into the scene after a while.
It's a unavoidable problem.
