Hello Everyone, I'd like some help connecting my wiiu directly to my router.

You see, not long ago I had my WiiU wired to a TP-Link, it worked just fine but the router kinda busted, so I had to replace it with a Linksys (WRT54GL). Now, the wireless on my linksys works just fine, but as soon as I try to hardwire my Wiiu to the router, it gives me an error (saying that it cant find the router, even tho it can detect it just fine via wireless) the router's port doesnt flash either. I doubt the ports are busted since the linksys is connected to my PC just fine, so uh...

Things I've tried

  • Change the security settings to WAP (AES), WAP2 (AES and AES+TPIK), WEP
  • Enabling/disabling the router's firewall
  • Changing the routers' MTU (from 1500 to 1400)
  • Enabling/disabling MAC filtering
  • Enabling/disabling MAC cloning
  • Switching to static IP (but then I realized my ISP only supports dinamic IP, beats me why)
  • Manually entering the SSID (only to realize that this is just for wireless settings, unless I did something wrong)
  • Updating the router's software
I think the only thing I havent tried is port forwarding, but I dont see how would that work since I didnt need to do any of that with my old TP-link. What do I do?

when you connect the wii u do you see it in the routers list of devices? If not it could be a bad cable or the wii u's lan adapter is bad. even if the wii u does not connect to the internet you should see its mac in the device table. if its in the table, then it is connecting to the router. check the dhcp settings also.

It doesnt, the router doesnt even flash when I plug the wiiu's ethernet cable to it.

The wiiu's lan adapter is not broken tho, it worked just fine with my previous routher, but not with the new one.

I'd try using the USB adapter with a PC or laptop. They're plug and play so if it's not working with a computer it's broken. Could help rule it out
