The steps themselves are extremely easy, all you have to do is move files and click where the guide tells you to click. The problem is that all the backups and downgrades and restores and files to move from SD to PC and viceversa are so goddamn slow. 30% of the installation is actually doing something while 70% is just waiting.
I say grab a beer and kill time with something else while you're going for a9lh, it'll be much less demanding. Just concentrate while you're following the guide so you don't fuck up.

OP is over reacting, as the A9lh install guide is not insane at all. Plus it's not that time consuming, if you don't count the NAND backups and even then it's like an hour or so to complete, if that, so stay as you are if you're happy. Creating a thread like this is not necessary imo.

It already is plenty easy; I'd say as easy as it can get. I did recently three NEW way A9LH installs and back few months ago I did the first type of A9LH installs. You do not have to compile your own installers out of your own OTP and files, do the N3DS 2.1 unbrick with your PC, and trust all of this to go through fine without better verification tools when I did this for my own consoles (one now sold to a good friend) - I did not at first even believe that the installer had been made for 2.1 and to install just as is with the OTP and all AND it dumps your OTP for you too. Like only thing lacking in current A9LH process is sexual favors while at it, that's all.

In real talk; As long as OTP which is key component for A9LH; there is no way for it to get easier, you need your console on 2.1 temporarily to get your OTP and install with it.

I did it the hard way too. However, it was a good bit easier for me as I had an o3ds. I actually beta tested OTPhelper: look it up, you'll see my name on the OP.

The scariest part I think is clicking one-click setup on OTPhelper...

I did it twice (once for each 3ds I have) ...and I was scared I would fail at one of the validation stages...and end up with a brick...

It is stressful, but with the guide and how the 3DS works I don't expect it will be an easier process anytime soon.

It is super easy.
I followed that very same guide as soon as I got home after buying my 3ds. I knew absolutely 0 of what he was talking about. Things like emunand, sysnand were meaningless to me and I couldn't understand any 3ds-specific term in the guide. Yet by following every step (double checking each and every one of them) I got a9lh and, didn't brick. It looks more daunting than what it is. Time consuming? Yes, those nand backups are slow. Hard? Only if you can't read. The guide outlines clearly every single step it's impossible not to get it right.

And I thought I knew nothing to begin with. :-)

Joking aside, it's really not -that- hard. With the help of fellow tempers on your side, there is nothing to worry about.

Well if you are already 9.2 with a CFW you can start at part 4 after changing Menuhax to type 1 so that saves you the backup form the previous parts...But I did all the back ups in part 4 and 5 so I still have a bunch of them saved on my computer and external hard drive: sysnand original , emunand original, emunand formatted and sysnand with A9LH...

Well if you want to sell your 3ds to a retail shop but you want it to have an exploitable firmware to give more options to the next owner...back uping the 9.2 sysnand is a good idea...

Ya I skipped a lot of backups and did fine. I didn't feel it necessary to do each and every one. But for noobs I wouldn't suggest skipping anything because the community will be able to help better if there's a problem, especially if they name the files correctly.
