Dear Tempers,
I decided to get a CFW for my NEW3DS 9.0 EUR console; I read weekly news here, but I still have some concern.
I would like to hear your advise (tough I am almost certain on the things I want to achieve).
What I have:
- NEW3DS XL 9.0 EUR Majora's Mask console
- SuperCard DSTWO flashcard (bought on July 2015. as new batch, so basically this is Dstwo+ without the label on the flashcard; I tried using Gateway plugin, I managed to install it but I did not have an entry point like Cubic Ninja game /required for N3DS consoles/ so I skipped using 3DS games), I use the card to play NDS, SNES and GBA games, for which it is absolutely great!
-SuperCard DSTWO+ (I did not use it, still unboxed)
I do NOT have:
- Cubic Ninja game, as entry point
- Zelda Ocarina Of Time + save dongle, as entry point
- Freaky Form Deluxe game, as entry point
- original Gateway flashcard (I always wanted but delayed then I got DSTWO+)
- HARD MOD (i can not solder and I do not want to either)
My goal is to play:
- Zelda games (OOT, Tri Force Heroes, Link between Words)
- Mario & Luigi RPG games (Dream Team, Paper Jam)
- Secret Of Mana type games: FF Explorers, SADAME (eshop game), Ever Oasis (once released)
- N3DS exclusives: SNES games, maybe Xenoblade Chronicles (but I have the original game on Wii)
- (extra): maybe there is a way somehow to play Zelda Four Swords, but I know it is a tough wish, I do not have this game, i was not member of ambassador program
I do NOT care about:
- playing on-line (I always play off-line in single modes, but maybe I try it one day)
- NNID (I sill not set it up, so i do not care about system transfer either)
- losing save files (I beat Majora's Mask, I will not play it for a long time, and I want a fresh new play)
- unlinking nands (format system menu and losing my pre-installed Zelda game)
- street pass, MII and such social things
- e-shop access not required for me, but it would be great to have (I never browsed it, never saw!)
- slower booting times
- other flashcards like Sky3DS+, and I will not buy a genuine Gateway either
- other CFW's like rx tools
What I prefer:
- I like ".3DS" files with Gateway if I can manage my DSTWO+ that way
- I am not against installing cia's either (I can wait 5 x 1 hour for 5 games I really want to play)
- but I still prefer .3ds over cia (like old style NDS flashcards)
- I do not want to touch my Sysnand more than absolutely necessary
- this puts A9LH out of ring (I do not want to upgrade then downgrade and a possible brick)-> NO A9LH!
- original MSET (I do not want to downgrade MSET to 4.5 and such things, I do not want to downgrade anything at all)
- I want to back up my NAND on the earliest step possible
- latest emunand if possible
- I would like to use 3DS games and the Supercard DSTWO(or+) flashcard for NDS/SNES/GBA simultaneously
I wanted to follow originally Wurstpistole fantastic tutorial (https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutoria...luding-emunand-coldboot-cia-installer.405589/) before I saw there is a Supercard CFW on the Supercard official forum (the thread called: CFW for SuperCard DSTWO PLUS to play 3ds games(Support EmuNand 11.0.0), search for it please). Now I am stuck, and I do not know what to do.
I wanted to install CFW Luma with menuhax, because I can not use the DSTWO+ flashcard with Gateway plug-in above Gateway launcher 3.4.1, which does not contain any brick code, but can not use the latest Gateway features + emunand either. It is enough to play older games like (Zelda OOT, Link between words, maybe Dream Tema as well), but that's all. Still better than nothing, but there is one other catch: once you turn your Supercard into Gateway, there is no turning back for normal NDS games (at least there are lot of complains, people after using Gateway plugin can not access NDS/SNES/GBA features anymore, because the flashcard does not recognize the "factory default" mode, where you can select Alex Rider icon.)
Then I saw the Supercard CFW and I am confused. Which is the better way?
Luma (without A9HL) or Supercard CFW? What do you think?
I still do not know anything about that Supercard CFW, so right now I think Luma (without A9HL!) + Menuhax would be a good choice.
But If I could manage with Supercard DSTWO+ CFW to play the latest games from the flashcard (.3ds files on the microsd inside the flashcard), this would be also sweet.
Has someone experience with the Supercard CFW yet?
I have questions here too:
- Is there maybe a more clear installation guide + FAQ?
I am not sure why is listed "arm9loaderhax.bin on the root directory of 3DS console memory card", is this mean: A9HL a requirement for that CFW? I guess not.
- Does this support N3DS models?
(they write: "ALL 3DS/2DS/3DS XL consoles" that hopefully includes N3DS as well)
- Do I need the Gateway plugin for this Supercard CFW at all? I guess not.
Maybe I should try set-up both CFW's on different memory cards.
"Method 3: Run freegame.3dsx Via HBL (The Homebrew Launcher) to load freegame.dat" should be compatible with the Luma3DS guide of Wurstpistole (using a different entry point on Homebrew launcher) if I do not set up autoboot into emunand...?
Thank you very much for your help in advance.
Best regards,
bakibandi

UPDATE:
I set up Menuhax + Luma + latest emunand (11.0.0.33) and installed some cia's.
I did not use Supercard CFW, and Supercard flashcard for this process, I only followed Wurstpistole guide.
Btw. I answer my question myself: Gatweway 3.7.1 HBL entry point with 3.7.1 launcher.dat without any supercard flashcard can back up your sysnand. You do not even need an original Gateway flashcard for that.
Luma in 11.0.0.33 emunand can work together with Supercard Dstwo+ flashcard as NDS/SNES/GBA games. Really cool, I do not have to use sysnand at all.
