I'm trying the new one step method and seems pretty unstable even with local host, crashes half of the time while with the two step method I was getting 100% boot rate.
Anyone having the same problem?

It's not hard to imagine because you need port 80 open. You need to make sure your router AND firewall aren't blocking it. You need to make sure you don't have another web server running or Skype.
Yeah but this is on local network, where port forwarding is irrelevant. On a local network a port is never blocked, port forwarding is only for external access.

So if you for example have port forwarded 80 and you're running the exploit, I could just use your IP and skip hosting it myself :P

i downloaded a update for hyrule warriors not sure where to put it.
How about reading the first post? There's a very clear segment about it.

Your update has a folder, for example, update17. Put it in the Hyrule Warriors [BWPJC8]/updates/ and rename it to v17 (in this case that is, use the number your update has).

Speaking of Hyrule Warriors, I put the code, content, and meta files on my SD card correctly, was able to load the exploit and homebrew launcher on 5.5.1, it shows up in Loadiine, loads all of the update prompts after getting the v144 update with JNUSTool and replacing the game files, but then freezes at a black screen after the Koei Tecmo and Omega Force logo screens.

Any idea as to why it's doing that?

OS X' finder creates hidden property files (._*) You have to remove them before using Loadiine. Either enable showing hidden files and delete them manually or use something like BlueHarvest.
