So guys i just bought 2 games from the eshop and i'm trying to download them. In order to download them does nnu patcher have to be active or not? I have tried both and my downloads seem to be stuck at pending for quite a while now. Any help? Thanks!

no after they are on your downloading list pending hard shutdown your wiiu by holding the power button then restart it and they will resume download.

Hey guys. I ported nnu-patcher to HBL (the homebrew launcher). It should work on 5.3.2 and 5.4.0, maybe more firmwares (depending on whether the scrambled function name stayed the same) and easy to port. I couldn't test the patcher as my console is not spoofed, so in case someone wants to test it, drop me a message ;) As soon as I've confirmed it works I'll just upload it here.

Okay guys, I tested it on my own console (5.4.0) and it worked flawlessly, I'm downloading the games I got through the Humble Bundle right now. 5.3.2 should also work. I don't know about other firmwares, but it should be just a matter of getting the scrambled C++ function name.

You can find a pre-release here:
https://github.com/dibas/nnupatcher-hbl/releases/tag/0.1
Sources will be uploaded as soon as I've cleaned them up :D

Please report any bugs/feedback!

Enjoy,

Neat!
I'll give this one a go once I get home. :)
Quick question, do you know if it might work if we have the domains blocked via router instead of TubeDNS?
I don't want to block YouTube altogether since I use my Wii U as a main media player too.

Hey, it might work, depending on which URL's you blocked. Just try it and report back :)

Do we make a folder called wiiu\apps\nnupatcher\nnupatcher.elf on the SD card? Also I think the YouTube DNS trick no longer works for me (unless the DNS changed?) as I was somehow able to get onto to YouTube  I didn't even make changes to them lol.

I would assume so, if you want to run it on HBL.

You can call the elf whatever you want, as long as the folder name matches it. So if you name the elf blah.elf, the folder has to be named blah as well.

And the Tubehax DNS? I didn't make changes to and it still allowed access to YouTube, kinda nervous using the NNUPatcher with that, I'll need to look up that DNS again before I run this exploit and patcher. But I just made a folder for the apps :P

Edit: quoting another member

Can you apply a router parental control? This method is flawless compared to tubehax.

Yup, my router has five Nintendo servers blocked with parental control. I believe @pedro702 stated that hard-resetting the console makes the downloads "unstuck" and that they resume upon resetting it. I had Tubehax set up but for some reason doesn't work.

Well I only have the main 6 domains blocked that prevents the updates from autodownload, which are these ones:

nus.c.shop.nintendowifi.net
nus.cdn.c.shop.nintendowifi.net
nus.cdn.wup.shop.nintendo.net
c.shop.nintendowifi.net
nus.wup.shop.nintendo.net
nus.cdn.shop.wii.com

But I'll try to do so anyway. :P
I'll report back with what I have in a few hours.

Thank you man !

It works on 5.3.2 spoofed to 5.5.1; after launch it returns to WiiU menu and then i enter eShop and it works.

Those are the Nservers i am blocking via router:
nus.cdn.c.shop.nintendowifi.net
nus.cdn.shop.wii.com
nus.cdn.wup.shop.nintendo.net

Question: does it unload from memory when i exit eShop ?

Thank you for the feedback!

It patches the update functions every time you start a title, so you can exit eshop, start it again, do something else, whatever. To unload it, just start Mii Maker, it will silently disable patches and return to HBL.

EDIT: The source code of nnupatcher-hbl is now available on my GitHub! Enjoy!

EDIT2: nnupatcher for HBL now has its own thread!

Do I have to disable Tubehax if I want to download dlc?

Just "bought" the free DLC for Mario Kart, it is in my download list now, but it doesn´t start downloading.
I already tried to reset the console, but still nothing happens...

If you disable Tubehax you won't need NNU Patcher ;) So ... no don't ever disable it!
Start kernel exploit followed bei NNU then access the eShop to buy what you want, hard reset and it should start downloading.
