kodi runs on raspberry PI so it has(even if it is because the is using linux as an OS) ARM support. yet i dont think it will happen for a while looking at the current state of WIIU HB.

All is in the title ! since kodi has ppc version is it possible to run on the wiiu?
Here is the situation for porting kodi:
-Userspace(5.5+): Pratically impossible
-Kernel(<5.4): Difficult and limitated but possible
-IOSU(not yet): Not easy anyway but with full access to WiiU hardware speed, eaily launchable from home menu

But AFAIK nobody is working on it. (I would like to have kodi too)

Kodi retired ARM support awhile ago, old builds are still available but if someone wanted to port it they have to do a lot of work updating it and getting plugins worth using up todate.

It is possible, however it would be a little difficult and would take a lot of time. And as jimbo13 mentioned, you would probably need to update some plugins.

Right now, I think it would only be possible on 5.3.2, maybe 5.4 too. For playing things off USB, IOSU would obviously be needed.

It's funny you mention Kodi, because I was actually exploring the possibility to port it to Xbox One, since they allow developer mode now. :D

Yep, originally XBMC if I am not mistaken isn't WiiMC a port? You could run it on vWii but it's not very feature and I never had good performance with it back in the day.

Amazon firesticks are great for Kodi and an easy install. I recommend the plugins 1chan, genesis and phoenix. It's all you need for film.

Not a big movie buff, more of a gamer tbh. And Series X is 120hz 8k ready, but yea only 120hz 4k games out right now, but thinking of in the future.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Mostly why you never see TV manufacturers going post 60hz
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I only watch tv when i goto bed, it puts me to sleep, and I have a nas drive filled w my fav shows so i can watch them in order, commercial free. I usually watch Married w Children, or South Park
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Stremio ruined my need for nas
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I stream from Nas to firestick, one on every tv, and use Kodi. I'm happy w it, plays everything. (I pirate/torrent shows/movies on pc, and put on nas)
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I got my Dad a firestick for Xmas and showed him those 3rd party sites on Kodi, he loves it, all he watches anymore. He said he has got 3 letters from AT&T already about pirating, but he says f them, let them shut my internet off (He wants out of his AT&T contract anyways)
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
That's where stremio comes to play never got a letter about it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just use a VPN, even give him my login and password so can use it also, and he refuses, he's funny.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I had to find and get him an old style flip phone even without text, cause thats what he wanted. No text, no internet, only phone calls. Old, old school.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@BigOnYa, Lol I bought a new USB card reader thing on AliExpress last month for I think like 87 cents. Free shipping from China... It arrived it works and honestly I don't understand how it was so cheap.
