Rxtools is freezing for me too during the installation data suite. I created a fresh firm folder from CDN, for N3DS. And have the keys. I tried multiple times, it just does not work.

See my post on the last page. Maybe the cakehax bin is the one that's needed, rather than the one from cdn?

this is my file structure:

/rxTools

rxtools.smdh
/rxTools
/data
firmfile.bin
system.json

From https://github.com/roxas75/rxTools/releases

"N3DS users : read the IMPORTANT!.txt file!" >

Again, see my post from the last page. Which bin file are N3DS users supposed to use? The 3.0 package says two completely different things. In the QuickStartGuide it instructs N3DS users to use the bin from an older CakeHax release, and the IMPORTANT!.txt file instructs N3DS users to use the one that gets generated in the firm folder. It can't be both so which one is it?

ignore the thing about the cakehax firm, just use n3ds_cdn_firm.py to make the firm and use that

this is the same as mine and doesnt work lol
did you update to 10.5 first?

also are you autobooting the code.bin or the 3dsx file?

oh got the installation suite to load forgot its buggy if you boot directly to the 2 i mentioned above.

Booting into Homebrew menu then ran rxtools suite is now attempting to install

I just tried the firmware.bin file from cakesFW, renamed to the proper name. It freezes as soon as I click on rxtools from ctr boot manager. and I have the path set as /rxTools/sys/code.bin";
The same thing happens even when using the properly downloaded cdn N3DS firm files.

I've been using rxTools for a long time, not someone completely new to it. Those instructions included in the zip clearly tell us what firm files we need. It's simply not working. The key files even have the right MD5, and placed on the SD root.

This version of Rxtools is dirty indeed!

Using the correct firm files for N3DS, and placing the ninjax rxtools folder for homebrew use, I launched it from the .3dsx file using grid launcher, and it still gets stuck on the installation data suite

Edit: tried again from the homebrew launcher, now I get a black screen.

I've never had such low compatibility with Rxtools, the fact that it works for some people blows my mind. I'm absolutely sure it's not a user error. I always delete the rxtools folder and add it again before testing again.

I always backup the rxTools folder just in case the new version fails.

New rxTools report:

- Data installation freezes on both O/N3DS at least 6 mins
- But after forced rebooting, both O/N3DS works fine

Uh oh, everyone fails on data installation.

FINALLY got it to work after 10 tries or so, of booting it through homebrew launcher. Just keep trying, and don't replace the files again and again. Once it's installed, you can boot into it normally. I can even boot it through CTR boot manager with no problem now.

One thing I personally like about Rxtool's is it's built in Region free. It's all out Gateway + Rxtools for me. No worry about region. Though I learned how to look for region free since I had to use ReiNand for a while. Glad to be back home in Rxtools. I had to delete some out of region games because I couldn't bare to unwrap them every time I used region free patcher.
