No, I used ninjhax and ironhax. I did try taking out the sd card, no change.

If removal of SD card, and recover mode don't work and you just get black screen you have ruined the 3ds. Unless you have a previous NAND backup from a hard mod there is currently no way to recover.

Did you use the right CIA files? this seems to be the most common way to trash the 3ds

Yes, I made sure I had the right files. Most of the way through the downgrade I got an error about unable to remove or delete something or other. I let it sit there for a while in case it was still working but nothing happened. I hit B to try and exit and I got a black screen. Now that's all I can get.

bummer man,

I have yet to be brave enough to try mine. If I was smart I'd put a hard mod in before I do anything.

So, I managed to downgrade my New 3DS XL (previously was on 9.9.0-26U), but I have a black screen upon reboot. However, the Home Menu shows up when I take out the microSD card and then boot up the system. If I then insert the SD card, all of my usual eShop stuff appears, but when I try to boot them, it gets stuck on the Nintendo 3DS logo screen. What's causing the on-SD-card-software not to boot? And is there any way to make the system boot to the home menu when the SD card is already in the system, instead of to a black screen?

It's probably menuhax spooking around. Go into theme settings and select a theme.

Thanks for the nice tutorial. I was able to save a 2DS that I had just written off finally as being completely useless to me.

Actually, hold on. All of my eShop-obtained software works... except for Ironfall, which hangs on the Nintendo 3DS logo screen. I didn't just screw myself out of the only way I had of accessing the Homebrew Launcher, did I?

Are you trying to run the homebrew launcher from within emuNAND? If so, just use this: https://github.com/yellows8/hblauncher_loader/releases

If you mean for the sysNAND, just use MenuHax. Set it up to run CTRBootManager and you can have it boot to rxTools or whatever by default and Homebrew Launcher if you hold a certain button (or just show the menu if you hold the button.) This allows you to even setup a hands-free bootup to CFW or whatever you prefer if you want (though it can just show the menu with no timeout if you prefer.)

I haven't actually done any 9.2-related things yet (CFW and etc). When the problem I had earlier was fixed by selecting a theme, didn't that uninstall it?

rxTools 3 Beta does. There's a build dated 12/08/15 that definitely works (I've tested on another N3DS I'm setting up for someone with zero problems.)

Remember, no emuNAND past 9.5 as of yet on the N3DS.

Use Menuhax or browserhax
