No it does not. What is that and do I need it for the O3DS?
Yes you do. It is not needed for N3DS, so I'm not sure why they are requiring it for O3DS. They get some key from it that's needed for decryption, but found out how to get that key directly from NAND on the N3DS. I'm at work, so I can't help with the exact cetk files at the moment. I was thinking that the .py file grabbed those as well...

@Shadow#1 feel free to piss off. I've seen too many stupid posts from you. Asking o3ds or N3ds, when the very post you quoted said o3ds AND mentioned a 4.x firmware. SMH...

None of the .py files I used downloaded a cetk.bin file.

give me an hour or so. I'll check things out during my lunch break (I'm in Japan). Maybe @Shadow#1 is correct on the latest nightly or something (I haven't had a reason to update in a few weeks). If the data installation suite doesn't fail, then that isn't your problem. I can say that much for sure.

None of the .py files I used downloaded a cetk.bin file.
The latest nightly works good on N3DS, its the first one that does flawlessly (so far anyways...) I am using the prebuilt one from the RxTools devs official release mirror, what you're describing is what happens when you are using the wrong firmware, not using firmware at all, or it is not named properly. You do not need to use the .py script or .cetk file with New 3DS. You have to find the Cakes FW firmware.bin and place it in /rxtools/firm/0004013820000002.bin

Ok, just tested starting from *almost* scratch. It does work flawlessly using what the .py downloaded (no cetk files needed). I was greeted initially with a black screen launching with Ninjhax 1.1b, but that was because I had to update the .3dsx launcher. No problems after that.

What method are you using to launch it?

Mset, the .py file seems to not be working correctly. The bin files are the wrong size. @Shadow#1 gave me his but I can't test for a couple of days.

Yup. Americable. It blocks the download of 0004013800000002/00000049 for some dumb ass reason. I don't even know how online 3ds updates even work because of that...

Edit: So using the latest everything, I had little luck with anything other than 6.x MSET on the O3DS with a 9.2 sysnand. If you currently have 4.x installed, I suggest you try installing 6.x then reinstalling the rop for that one. Mset works fine for me this way.

The only reason I want to use rxtools is for menuhax and cold boot. If I am not able to get that to work I will stick with my gateway. I had it working with an older build that uses the firmware.bin but after trying to update I could never get it to work again.

I will test more on Thursday.

by little luck, I was only referring to MSET. You hadn't mentioned menuhax when I asked how you were launching it, but menuhax should be fine. I'm almost certain you'll be sorted using the correct firmware files.

Which version of RXTools has the AGB_firm patched? I'm trying to update from 2.6 to the latest nightly from
Code:
https://lavanoid.github.io/

But half the files in the readme don't exist. Rxtools.dat is now under a different name in a different location, i figured that much out. CDN downloads 3 seperate .bin files (TWL, AGB, NATIVE, I'm guessing anyway) but no firmware.bin, which I'm guessing is still required. I've got MSET installed for 4.x, and make it as far as this screen, but then it locks and does nothing (because I don't have firmware.bin?)

The firm folder goes in the rxtools folder. There is no more firmware.bin.
