Star Fox Zero delayed to Spring 2016

star-fox-zero-header.jpg

Today, Shigeru Miyamoto announced that the release date for the Wii U title will be pushed back. Miyamoto says the game could technically be released at this point, but he wants to spend more time polishing the gameplay and cutscenes. Is it a wise choice to delay one of the Wii U's few big holiday titles?

Every time I see the logo I think it's StarFox Zero 3

I doubt they'll move it to the NX. They should have done most of the development already. The Wii was a more powerful GameCube, so the Twilight Princess thing made sense. We have no indication of the NX being an improved WiiU though.

And they said that this game will be released before Zelda U.

Good luck to those still hoping that thing will come to Wii U.

Damn. Was really looking forward to this. Its the only other Wii U game I want right now. Oh well I don't have the money for the game right now anyways. Maybe by then I will hopefully.

Ugh, all of this screams NX. Hopefully they do a dual launch like they did with Twilight Princess, but at this point who knows. Hoping I'm not hating myself for a recent WiiU purchase a year from now.

That's a suspicious streak of delays there by nintendo. I too think they may be taking their time partly because they want to offer two versions of the games (WiiU and NX), with the intention of baiting people into the upgrade.

Especially if you consider that nintendo's biggest problem with its last 4 systems was a lack of good launch titles. Perhaps they are going to "fix" this by delaying the last previous-gen games instead.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

im taking a break for today anyway

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
