There is really no way to prevent cheating, other than server side by Nintendo. All other ways will be worked around.

At least in my uninformed opinion.

well the most obvious thing would be at least having a sanity check on time trials especially....i mean it would be super simple to just set it up so if the time is wayyyy too small its invalid by default, but that wouldn't really solve the issue but the sad guys who intentionally go trying to get stupid scores would probably be butthurt if nobody actually could tell if they cheated or not as they could only register realistic times......i guess they would probably out of desperation just start calling themselves h4x0r etc so they can think they are super cool for 2 mins

To all the guys posting sarcastic/derogatory comments; it's getting more than a little obvious that you're starting to wear on Marionumber1. Remember that he is in high school and doing this in his free time. If a new school year hasn't started for him yet, it's about to, and that can be stressful in and of itself. Like he said, shut up and be grateful. If you think you can do something better, do it yourself

That's a pretty stupid thing to do, is like essentially asking for a ban for your account.

Then they should be ashamed that they spread lies about being against cheating.
Developer just made the tools, they can't control what users do with this tools, I just hope people don't came over here saying "but marionumber1 didn't warn about being banned for cheating!", that would be hilarious.

So how did people manage to cheat online once again? You have to be on 5.5.0 or did I miss something?

Also yes, I saw the "You just got trolled" text below the image. Still it doesn't look edited :/

I don't recognize the name either. There's always the possibility they figured out spoofing. There's another possibility that it's fake or old. Someone should confirm this.

You can shut the fuck up and be grateful we released something.

Wow, rude.

You privately released the 5.5 exploits and you didn't expect this kind of backlash? Especially since someone is using it to cheat?

5.5 is the only firmware you can play online with. There are no publicly available exploits for 5.5.

He didn't privately release anything related to 5.5.0. Myself, and MrRean are the only people who have them currently. At least within this group, and I trust MrRean wouldn't share it with anyone outside of the group.

That cheater has nothing to do with us.

has anyone actually checked the leader-boards, looks a bit weird too me

and even then there is no monopoly on hacking a console, anyone can go do it if they want, its a bit presumptuous to start throwing accusations about when you simply have no idea if its even anything more than a photoshop job for attention

Because that's the only firmware you can access online with? -_-
Ok?... But we don't know that this screenshot was just taken?...

And you also have to remember that Marionumber1 (+co.) is not the only one working on hacks. There are most likely other people working on it for their own use specifically for cheating

So yeah, feel free to "backlash" all you want, but it won't do you much good. If anything it only increases the chance that you'll piss the team off and make them not want to release anything
