People seems to think that they are entitled to having the exploit, and those people are exactly what's wrong with the Internet.

Do us all a favor and cancel your ISP subscription.

Hope you guys solve it, and develop a proper exploit, take your time, not a single moron here are entitled to YOUR hard work, remember that when people start bitching about shit.

I don't believe you'll find any of us claiming an estimate as a fact. Please show evidence of that or stop talking about how we gave you misleading facts.

It's not a crappy comparison to point out that nothing can be considered absolutely safe. We gave our best measure of how safe it would be to update, and I'm (not) sorry if you dislike that I can't say it with 100% certainty.

What the hell are you all arguing about? My post was clearly misunderstood somehow, so let me try again...

No one was lied to, I never stated anything contrary to what NWPlayer123 had stated before.
The 5.3.2 bug is real, causes a controllable crash and gives us a nice heap overflow. That's enough to be confident that it can be turned into an exploit on the Wii U. Plus, I've personally confirmed that the heap overflow is consistent and reproducible (via crash logs).

That's more information that I should even share, since it's still a work in progress. Either way, it's safe to update to 5.3.2 because it's vulnerable and it's pointless to remain on an older firmware version when you can update and keep using your Wii U normally until you wait for the exploit.

The work being done on firmware 3.0.1 has nothing to do with this. I'm exploiting this firmware because it's closer to the firmware version that was exploited by comex some years ago.
Essentially, firmware versions from 2.0.0 (first installment of the Internet Browser) to 3.1.0 (last version before the WebKit's source was updated) are great entry points for an IOSU exploit, mainly because very little changed across them. After firmware 4.0.0, major changes were applied and my ultimate goal is to find if the original IOSU exploit still exists and, if not, to find a new one so the Wii U can be fully exploited up to it's latest firmware version.

I'm merely re-tracing fail0verflow's steps at this point. The goal is to fully hack the Wii U again on the latest firmware version.

I do agree... and it's not as if you or the others are asking for a boatload of cash to do to this, probably mostly for the challenge of being able to do it and to open up development for the scene (homebrew, game mods, and such), and the majority of us appreciate that immensely. Don't let a few idiots (and I don't include you jammy, you seem cool for the most part) dissuade you. I, as most, understand these dates are estimates, but unforeseen hardware/software problems, life, and the rest are always factors as well. When it gets done, it gets done. Truthfully, I don't use my Wii U all that much, so it's not a biggie for me, but I'm sure there are some who are a bit more antsy... I think we're all just excited at the possibilities, is all. Again, thanks to NWP, MN1, hykem and anyone else who's contributing; I sure as hell couldn't do a tenth of what you guys do :yay:

I don't even know how it's possible that it got this mixed up. Nobody said there wasn't an exploit on 5.3.2 anymore. They said it might take longer than expected. Take longer != gone. They said 5.3.2 is safe (as it can be) because the Kernel sploit is confirmed working still, and the fact that its far (far) more likely that they can exploit webkit with a new bug rather than not. Which they did / have been doing fine.

TL;DR exploit is still there, 5.3.2 is still safe, there was a slight hiccup but your best bet is still to update because they won't likely go out of their way to support older versions once it is released. @Marionumber1 @NWPlayer123 can correct me if i'm wrong.

NWPlayer says to update to the latest firmware because everything's fine.
Now Hykem comes in and says that the bug for the latest firmware is harder than expected to exploit. So everything isn't "fine"? So it wasn't OK to "update to the latest firmware"?

Thus, being pissed at being lied to =/= hating.
Nothing should have been said in the first place. NWPlayer has been hyping it, although it is everyone who is upset that is investing to much thought into this. If it (5.3.2) is released soon , good , if not, who cares. Rule #1 is never update unless an exploit is available.

Im fairly happy with the level of design and colour schemes , not to mention sound tracks nintendo developed for MK i cant say im to excited to have a different coloured sky or block rocking beat over my game . Dont get me wrong what they did with smash on the wii was amazing and that kinda mod gets me buzzing , but all these people here moaning and getting hyped im sure are expecting this level of development the day a 5.3.2 exploit is released... when in reality they will be elated then wonder wtf to do with it.... for me the soap opera is fun to read but im well aware the real excitment will come yrs after hykem and MN1 have done their part.

So...I leave to start a new job, recording new stuff, become a squid, and I come back to some sort of mass hysteria..? Confused about what is really going on, but just gonna state that I have full faith in everyone involved in this project. I know the workload is tedious and having people down your neck doesn't help, so I thank you all for all that you do!
