Size checking for unsigned content would be one easy way of detecting homebrew. The vast majority of games exceed 128MB or more. Homebrew is almost always smaller then that. Not sure how you are going to do that, but hopefully this includes allowing SaveDataFiler and DevMenu. (Well I suppose there's BigRedMenu)

it's not a good idea to limit size. Check out the home-made games for PSP. I even see 400MB+ homebrew game. Look for Guitarway to Heaven

There will no be risky options. They all will be full of warnings and checks, so no problem.
Just be careful on your own as always.

Btw, i had 30 minutes to write some code for mi idea and it just works!
rxMode is capable to detetch homebrew and roms, and he now enables homebrew, even if unsigned, through CIA installation.
I tried to install/run many roms CIAs and they all are rejected.

Tomorrow i'll make a video for proof of what i'm saying. :)

nice one, but now, be carefull with your source code.

if someone wants he can make a cfw with gameloading capacity

also, limit your homebrew capabilities cause game-loading homebrews can be created with piracity intentions.

be careful

This one's emunand is unlinked, that is why the update doesn't show in sysnand.
If you want to update this one:
Take another SD card, use gateway launcher to format emunand,
boot into rxTools, update (if on RX-E)
update pokemon through rxTools.
Then put back your gateway SD card and your update will be installed.

I boot into rxtools with a new SD card after using gateway launcher, but I guess I was supposed to update the GW emunand. Not doing that, and just updating after using the rxtools exploit, updated my sysnand. I just updated the sysnand to an old 3ds xl. I fucked myself.

if you have a NAND backup (made with the GW launcher) just make a hard mod and re-write your old NAND

They'd have to de-obfuscate his code and circumvent the checks. At that point someone might as make their own CFW or circumvent Gateway's DRM checks.

Undoing Gateway's DRM will likely take the same amount of effort and yet we don't see a full on piracy CFW out yet. If anyone hacks rxTools, they'll keep it private anyways as is the routine in the 3DS scene now a days. If anyone does, piracy concerns would become their responsibility since rxTools had to be modified. I still think the route Roxas75 is taking is the right one and hope he goes through with it. Fact is, there doesn't seem to be a lot of coders that know enough about ARM coding to do this otherwise we'd have CFWs all over the place by now. I think what he's doing is a reasonable safe guard.

I already own a Gateway so it makes no difference. However using things like SaveDataFiler on retail carts and not being limited to doing int on 4.x CFW that can't boot newer game would be a big plus with this among other things. :D

On the plus side. Perhaps this will push Gateway to finally get their ***t together and allow homebrew for Classic Mode or just let retail carts work in Gateway mode. (with the proper save encryption of coarse. They still use old save encryption in Gateway mode even on newer sysnands)

I told you to check if you were in RX-E :(
Feel so bad for you,
(doesn't matter where you updated, you just needed to be in emunand)
You have a Nand backup?
