Homebrew [Poll]Downgrade to 4.x or stay at 9.2?

I upgraded to 9.4 because there will be a solution for it someday anyway and in the meantime I have lots of legit games to finish or even start.

Until the 3DS has a real flashcart that doesn't include crazy configurations and ways to even use them, I will just keep buying my games.

I update only when needed. It can't be helped.

I downgraded for awhile, but the cfw is unstable as heck, and I currently have no 3ds flash card, I went back to 9.2, So why not try out both?

I did the exact same thing. Maybe its for you or maybe its not. Never know unless you try.

I voted downgrade simply because you can on the old 3DS and I don't like the new online exploit too much from Gateway but after reading from the experience of users on this thread I would say it's safe to stay on 9.2 and it maybe more stable too.

I just don't see the point on downgrading right now.
The only advantage i can tell is using the offline DS profile exploit instead of the web browser hack and running old DS carts.

That's my main point to downgrade.. you don't need the browser... They have been hacked before, the website can go down forever you never know.. One day they can just catch ghost! and loook you have a POS flashcart that can't be used..

Downgrade to 4.x. Flashcarts are compatible with it, CFW, and other stuff.

I chose to downgrade, because running the browser exploit to enter GW mode every time on 9.2 was a pain in the ass.

I chose to stay on 9.2 because for the time being, this offers enough for me and my Gateway. I can downgrade to 4.5 whenever I please.

If I were to downgrade to 4.5, I don't have an option to return to 9.2.

you have, by simply flashing you backup with the gateway launcher.

What do you guys recommend? Because i dont see really advantages in downgrade. Sure you have to use the internet exploit but with Shadowtrances gateway loader its no problem now. Once i downgraded my 3DS on 4.x can i update it on 9.2 again? Or it is impossible? Would be nice to ehar some feedback an the opinion from the community

I downgraded officially and I'm staying there because I've had ds mode exploit crash one time on me where the browser exploit it was every other launch and I hate that because I'm constantly changing brews or editing files

4.5 can run CFW so no need GW
Also GW blue card can't run in 9.2.
Also you don't have to connect internet to active so it more useful when you on the trip without wifi.
That said, 4.5 always better, and it isn't hard to downgrade either.

The rumor is because IIRC, it asks you to connect to the internet to format in later versions. While I don't know what it uses the internet connection for, updating is not one of those things.

The internet connection is used to unlink your NNID. If you never set up a NNID it wont even ask to connect to wifi afaik.

i chose staying on 9.2
1) because i have some recent retail games
2) the gateway browser exploit doesn't need an internet connexion anymore if you have an android phone or you're smart enough to read tutorials about local webserver

If you run a ds game, the exploit is over written, then you just need to re run the exploit, so if you dont play many ds game, you're golden.

I have a EU 3DS and heard about some issue with a update nag. Is it the only risk with EU downgrade?

i was hesitant at first since all this is so new.

i decided downgrade to 4.2 is needed. now i have two sd cards.

my sysnand = 4.2
sd card 1 = CFW
emunand = 9.4, sd card 2 = for emunand.

you may lose some save data but really, its worth it.
