I can explain it pretty easily

so if you have the adapter plugged in there should be a bar of numbers in HIDtest

pretend this is it

11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11

Each 11 is an offset, starting with 0

if you press A then it would change to this

11 11 11 18 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11

See how offset 3 changed to 18?

then on the controller.ini you should have A=3,18

Repeat this for every button

Analog sticks are a bit different

If you push the analog stick to the left and it does this

11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 AA 11 11 11 11

StickX=8 (you just need the offset, not the value the offset changes to)

repeat for stickY, CstickX, and CstickY

you also need to add the sensitivity to the analog sticks. Adding ,0,100 seems to work for most. So stickX=8,0,100

Use this as a base

Thanks for the info but I need to find the HIDTest tool

You should be able to just download the controllers.zip from within nintendont's GUI.

If the adapter does claim to work with smash bros, the controller.ini for the official adapter I would think would just work fine..

You can plug the adapter into the front two usb ports and load games from sd or a usb drive plugged into the back of the wii U.

Here is what I have so far for Player 1 on a off brand GameCube controller

A
21 10 01 00 80 10 31 D0 1C 18

B
21 10 02 00 80 10 31 D0 1C 18

X
21 10 04 00 80 10 31 D0 1C 18

Y
21 10 08 00 80 10 31 D0 1C 18

Z
21 10 00 02 80 10 31 D0 1C 18

Start
21 10 00 01 80 10 31 D0 1C 18

D-Up
21 10 80 00 80 10 31 D0 1E 18

D-Down
21 10 40 00 80 10 31 D0 1E 18

D-Left
21 10 10 00 80 10 31 D0 1E 18

D-Right
21 10 20 00 80 10 31 D0 1E 18

Is any of this matching the Nintendo adapter? I wonder if a new ini needs to be made of if we can simply use the current one for Nintendo's adapter. Also, with these values, how should my ini look and how exactly do I handle the analog sticks and triggers?

Thanks for this. I got Wind Waker to run with Nintendont using my Wavebird and the adapter. Sadly the adapter wasnt so friendly with my off brand GC controller. With that said, I have a few questions.

The ini you gave me, does it also handle controllers 2-4 on the adapter?

Will I be able to use dance mats and bongos with this or do I need more lines?

BTW I added more video to my previous post, two pages back. You can see the adapter in action with Nintendont!

The controller file i gave you SHOULD work with all 4 controller ports assuming its just a clone of the Nintendo one.

The single ini for the official adapter supports all controllers. (race wheel untested)

So just to clear things up, this is exactly the same as the Nintendo brand one? It offers nothing more, nothing less? In all honesty, by the time they're available and the time it takes to deliver to my house, the Nintendo ones will be restocked, so I think I'll wait till then.

It actually does offer something the Nintendo adapter doesn't and that's official PC compatibility including the rumble function using Mayflash's own driver.

If someone spots a shop which also ships to europe/germany it would be great to show it to me. At the moment there are no shops which offer the new mayflash adapter. The old ones are sold at Amazon.

I just received a update from Mayflash. The adapter is due out, this coming week. They also suggest using the following link to buy your adapter and to confirm, YES, the adapter works with Smash.

Beyond cool! I'd get it if the shipping wasn't over a week: the Nintendo ones are due early in Feb so by the time I get the MayFlash adapter the official ones may already be out

Whereabouts does it say that Nintendo's GameCube adapters are now coming out in February? I'm so confused with these dates of Nintendo. :S

But nevertheless, thank you Mayflash and LightKD for the link!

I've heard many people claiming a Feb 3 release date. I hope they're right.

Alright, I've made up my mind: I think I'm going to go for this MayFlash adapter. The Nintendo brand adapter doesn't have PC drivers yet, does it?

Not complete, work in progress, but it works. Mayflash's adapter has the benefit that it switches from Wii U mode to standard USB HID mode, making it compatible with almost everything out of the box. Only for the rumble function it's necessary to download an additional driver from Mayflash, which they provide.
