Hacking Gateway 3DS working on the New Nintendo 3DS.

Quick... Someone talk me out of buying an AUS New3DS before I destroy my wallet...

I've only seen it on PlayAsia for $235 (including shipping), and that is admittedly an extremely reasonable price - I can't expect to find one for much cheaper. Of course, I'm also not 100% certain it will be on a firmware lower than 9.3, although It's highly likely it will still be on 9.0.

Overall, I'm trying to get pros and cons here. I'm in America, so I have to worry about region restrictions in the future. I don't want this to be an impluse buy, but as far as Gateway compatibility goes, I'm running out of time.

Okay. Just stay calm. You might be able to get a New 3DS with 9.2 or lower in the future. It will be rare and more expensive, but it will be possible to get one. On the other hand the chances not to get a 9.2 or lower New 3DS right now are slim (maybe non existent, as charges of 9.3 or 9.4 N3DSs are unlikely to be leaving the factories right now). In the worst case you could just buy a Sky3DS and stick to EUR roms.

How does the black inside the N3DS XL compare to the older model? Is it a lot rougher?

I have a 4.5 setup but I've been stalking this thread for some days now and I must say, with the slogans and the pictures and the captioning there is so much hype.... I hope that when Gateway release their exploit, it's done with trumpets and fireworks and trailer music + a bottle of champagne.

I'm currently at work and don't have my Zelda 3DS XL to compare it with.

The color on the N3DS XL is more like a charcoal grey than it is black. The buttons are darker than the shell is.

anyone thinking of buying a new3DS.....if you already own a 3DS....just sell it and get your n3DS while its on a compatible FW.....truth is, once the n3ds is released in your region your current 3DS will loose a lot of its value and you will kick yourself later

Don't buy one. Just because the N3DS has super stable 3d, nicer feel, C-stick,better screen choices, 9.0 fw, face plates, super stable 3d, cooler buttons, ZL and ZR triggers, and other things I'm not remembering, doesn't mean they are worth it.

But to be perfectly honest, look at the money, and look at the 3DS. Which one do you want more? You already have a 3DS so you're not missing a massive deal.
On the other hand, you can count your N3DS as an investment, keep all the boxes, receipt, everything. Pop it into a Hori TPU case if you want to play with it because soon, people will have a demand for 9.0 N3DS consoles. I would advise against playing it outside of your house though. leave that for your other 3DS.

Sell whatever physical games you don't feel are worth keeping forever. and look into other methods to keep your wallet from being empty. Cut down on any other cost for now, and count the decreased food amount as a diet.

Also, I forgot to mention super stable 3D. can't forget Super Stable 3D. Never forget Super Stable 3D. Ever.

I think we will be able to find exploitable n3ds later. There are still 4.5 old 3dsXL on playmods but they are very pricey. It costs me more to get a N3dSXL than a 4.5 3dsXL at the moment
