Hacking How to sell an 6.2 exploit to Gateway?

Well, I'll be one of the members of the community that wishes u good luck in this. I'm no help in knowing how to sell an exploit but at least I hope this post helps.
Whether it is real or not, I don't really care. However, I am glad that you found at least help on this site, despite the 95% of the posts not answering a simple question and asking about whether it is true or not (or even flat out insult you, Stay classy GBAtemp)

So if something interesting does come out of this, I'll be at least one of the members to remember you for it. XD

I cannot believe this thread is still going on! I don't think staff want to shut it because they were backing him up earlier on and they will feel a bit silly if they do, seems hes gone a bit quite, maybe Gateway paid up via paypal and he got sorted!

Honestly though, guys, he has nothing to prove to any of us. So all these "I call bullshit" "Y U NO POST VIDEOZ" "LOL" comments are useless. Probably won't stop anyone from continuing those posts, but yeah. I for one hope it's real, but won't hold my breath.

Gateway dont even have money to buy this... plus they already have a exploit for 6.1 i know

Ofc it's still on. He asked a legitimate question waiting to get his answer out.
The only problem is that:
1. He said too much, that was his first mistake. No hacker would even say that they found an exploit here on GBATEMP. Why? Just look at the past 6 pages filled with trash comments. If he said the word "hypothetically" he would have definitely gotten a somewhat similar response from the community but it wouldn't be as bad as it is now. Also, what he does with HIS exploit is his problem, he isn't entitled to show u any proof of it.

Well great if GW had an exploit for 6x that's great but tbh I think its a little to late now! most will have updated given up waiting or just had a phat smoke and forgot about the 3DS and are still on 6x. No I didn't think GW would even look at it! Apart from that you all good?

Yeah exactly. A 6.x exploit isn't worth much currently, even to GW. That ship has sailed. A 9.x exploit on the other hand ... now's that's worth something

If it's something that hasn't been patched since 6.x, the exploit might function in 9.x as well since Nintendo doesn't have a clue in how it works. Just like SSSpwn that still works from 4.x to 9.x.

Its only about a bit of fun with me and probably with lots of others on here, I'm not deadly serious about what I say, its just it sounds so ridiculous to just sign up with a username "needcash" and then claim he has an exploit for 6x to sell! I mean it is funny, letsbh

Except OP explicitly said it only works up to 6.2

well if he relied on the ds profile exploit to run the kernel exploit that could potentially mean the kernel exploit would still be usable on 7.x+ the same as how ssspwn needed a new entry point that came in the form of a save exploit.......granted such a solution is a bit "dirty" for a end product like gateway, but the ability to run on 9.x i assume would be worth it to them and their potential users.......all assuming its not BS still

Indeed, however, we still have no idea how it works. I'm not saying that it works on 9.X, but there's a possibility that something might be done with it in order to find vulnerabilities in later firmwares.

At least with SSSPwn you just need to drop one file onto your sd card. :-P

If you really want to talk about the technical side of the 3ds and I - can gain and learn something from it - I would love to do this by PM or mail.

Reecey: I began to idolize nocash's way of life in the past few weeks so that is were the name came from. I thought it would be funny. Honestly I did not think much about a username I will only use on one occasion in life. I did not realize it would be so important to you all.

Actually I did not want to post here anymore but so many of the latest messages were very nice so what the heck.

To give you a status update:

I sent a dumbed down version of my launcher without backup compatibility to the other team and they are very pleased with it.
Also I was contacted by the Gateway team in the meantime and I will shortly send them the launcher too. You can ask Gateway about that if you must.

The other team is not MT card (at least they told me that they have no relations to the other existing teams) but a different party which wants to take the yet "unconquered" (quote) 3ds market.
They don't mind if I tell you that and wanted me to share it to cause additional excitement. They also offered me a great way to do this whole business anonymously so I am settled with that now.

I will decide in the next few days which team will get the exploit and I guess you all can enjoy an announcement in the coming weeks soon.
