CAUTION:

If you use the NZ@McD1 SSID to HomePass, your 9.0 JPN console will be UNABLE TO CONNECT Nintendo eShop JPN !

After changed the SSID into others, the problem solved.

Has anyone got a similar eShop connection problem on visiting USA eShop via NZ@McD1?

Nintendo used a weird system to determine a eshop content. It depends on nzone SSID, console region and country settings and maybe geoip. As for NZ@McD1 this is native German Nintendo zone SSID, so o my German content is available (unlike _The Cloud, which has a country settings related content and attwifi as well which has an Australian zone available when this country is selected on European consoles and us content for us consoles) Luckily this will allow all European consoles to get a German Pokemon demo October 15, I hope. Please revert back to attwifi and set the prime mac it should work for you

attwifi is working for European 3ds for sure, just got another 6ppl on plaza with the prime Mac. Ap with no security, ap connection setting may or may not be configured on 3ds, it works anyway as well as internet.

Looks like all is well. My Spillpass setup works flawlessly on both firmware. A 2DS w/ 8, and my 3DS w/ 9. Still receiving streetpassing without an issue.

I switched to NZ@McD1, it work even password-protected and for both european and japan. Just confirm it is working with the US and we should switch to it IMO because of a large number of windows clients.
BTW my scripts can be modified to support SSID aswell, NZ@McD1 SSID name is already in a german 78 list

I have switched to NZ@McD1, both my 2DS and 3DS XL (US ones) received StreetPass tags, even with password. Despite using through my cellphone, I prefer this SSID since it's password-protected.

Ok, the router/Linux version of the script is updated to support SSID change. When selecting a new MAC list named 78 (for the German region in Nintendo notation) script will set change SSID to NZ@McD1 (which is distributed with each MAC now), the rest of the lists do not have a SSID field for now, so default attwifi will be used.

After updating my 3ds to vers 9 I found that I still could get mii data to work with an ssid of attwifi from the various specific-shirt MAC's... however I was getting almost no hits.

It appears that the update did something to the mii-data, so when the 3ds checks a MAC, it uploads its mii data, but it ONLY DOWNLOADS data that shows its from a 3ds of version 9 (9.0.0-20U or whatever).

So all the currently stored data on the shirt-MAC's is essentially being ignored until everyone cycles through and updates any data they had previously uploaded.

So far I have re-connected and updated my mii data to the shirt MAC's for the pink-shirts (4e:54:50:4f:43:xx where 70 to 7f is pink shirts) and the yellow-shirts (20 to 2f is yellow-shirts). I've seen at least one blue-shirt mii, so I can't be the only one working on updating the shirt MAC's.

I'll make another post once more shirt-MAC's are updated. With at least one updated mii-data in each MAC, the trading of info should get moving again and we can all go back to getting mii with a specific shirt color.

Was getting really annoyed with the update, but it was good to read some of the posts here.

I had no connections since the update, except from a pair of Streetpasses. After reading some of the posts I decided to go to internet settings, deleting the attwifi I had set up a long time ago, and re-adding the connection to the attwifi... and it seems to work fine now.

The 3DS still does not recognize it as a nintendo zone as it used to do before, but the green light is flashing frequently, and I'm getting quite a lot of connections :)

Currently using the Streetpass Riilay on my Android.

Thanks guys, hope this helps.

Do you use encryption WPA encrypion on not?

Nightly run of the updated script with 78,gbatemp gaves me all street pass games full of data.

try using a ssid of NZ@McD1

otherwise you may need to do a send/receive on all the MAC addresses you normally visit. Evidently nintendo was trying to crack down on homepass and made it so that attwifi is no longer the ssid associated with the "Nintendo Zone", though attwifi will still work for non-official MAC's like the individual shirt-color ones (again, you may need to visit each and every one before you start getting hits back. Something to do with "old data" or "old outdated data" from 3ds's with version 7 or lower no longer being accepted.)

edit: oh, and it can take up to a day while everyone else is re-seeding their mii to various MAC's.
