I picked up Starfox at Sears on sale for $20..

But when I let my son play it, he said he 'beat' it in like 20 minutes..

I didn't believe him, but he showed me the credit roll..

Is it that easy?

I was hoping for more (although I did get it for a good deal)..

Ugh. There's a 3DS Mode (Easy) and Original 64 Mode (Harder).
I usually go 64, but even then the challenge is doing well enough to earn medals.
You can get to the final boss in an hour or something, but it's one of those games you play over and over. There are different routes/levels you can go through. It's a good game, especially for $20.

P.S. Multiplayer is super fun, too!
(You could have just looked up what I just said, but oh well.)

Really? I thought the only difference was controls. Guess I might have to play it on N64 mode to make it last longer in future playthroughs (I never played the N64 original except once or twice with a friend). My main problem with the length and multiple playthroughs is that, at least for me, it's impossible to find most of the "hidden" paths to get to different levels without using Google. I mean, they seem so random. Ugh.

I don't know.
I beat the game.
To my understanding, there's "fake" Andross, which reveals itself to me a robot in the second half of the battle when it's skin gets blown off, and then there's "true" Andross, where in the second half of the battle reveals himself to be a giant brain and two eyes.

Andross is ridiculously easy even for the true ending. I have way more trouble with star wolf and crew, and some of the bosses.

The game has multiple paths though. The default path you go down is just sad and pathetic. It's the alternate paths that are really fun. The game is pretty short honestly, but it does take a while to go to every level.

I had more troubles with Venom easy side on hard mode (when trying to get the medal) and the Star Wolf fight on Venom hard side than either of the Andross fights.

But anyway yeah, it is very easy on easy mode, but if you play it on N64 mode after getting all the medals so you unlock 'hard' mode, that one will give you a bit of a challenge.

No offense guys, but I used spoiler tags for a reason. :ha:

You can't spoil a game that has virtually no story.

No one really cares, lol.

This was pretty much my thought. It'd be like talking about
when Aerith dies in Final Fantasy VII
Everybody should know about the stories to games that came out in the 90s : P

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
