As a recent Vita owner, I am about to embark on a quest to look for the best game to get from the launch titles that are available at launch, so far, I am very inclined to get either of the following:

- Hot Shots Golf
- Dungeon Hunter Alliance (I know you can get this one on the iOS app store for 99cents but my love for Diablo-like games is biased an not objective)
- Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

The first two seem to have a lot of content, since this is a portable system I am not really looking for a good story, I want gameplay and replay value. Also, I am not a big fan of Wipeout but I know a lot of people are, and the game looks awesome, sadly I were never able to play it w/o crashing into every wall.
I love MvC1, but I never got into MvC2, perhaps this is a good chance of revisiting that franchise.

Rayman Origins looks amazing and I skipped it on the console, I guess if you finished already there is no reason to get it, if you didn't perhaps it is worth it. Any racing fans? F1 2011 looks fund but I hate the fact that that it features last season instead of the current one.
Any other games worth mentioning? How about Escape Plan? That one seems cheap enough and with a unique sense of graphic style, I hate the fact that it is a linear story (or isn't it?) and once you beat it, you will probably will play it once or twice more and then forget about it.

In March I will probably pick up the Zipper Interactive shooter, Unit 13, looks awesome, perhaps I will wait for that one instead...
(I will also for sure get Metal Gear Solid Collection when it comes out as I am big Snake fan, but not sure when that one will come out).

What do you say, what game (if any) are you getting from the US launch title catalog?

I guess if I had to get one, I'd get Hot Shots Golf. The lack of games that interest me is the reason I don't think I'll be getting a Vita soon, though. Since you already have one, just try to pick which is going to be the most fun to you until some new games come out. ^_^

Import Ragnarok Odyssey.

That's pretty much the only interesting Vita game i've seen so far.

Uncharted is an obvious choice, if you're into the series.

Get Touch My Katamari! I haven't played it myself yet, but if it's anything like the two PS2 games, then it's dozens of fun. The gameplay and presentation is awfully quirky but very addicting and there's lots of replay value since you can unlock more stuff by replaying the levels and finishing various objectives. You should definitely get it, I know I will.. :>

I got Hot Shots Golf but I'm starting to regret it, it is the exact same game as on the PSP. Online mode wasn't even working as of yesterday.

I got Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and I love it. This coming from a fan of 1 and 2. Not having played any version of the 3rd game I've got to say Ultimate is a total blast and my favorite game in a while. Then again I love fighters and never tire of playing them over again to hone my skills. There's not too much to do as far as single player goes as you've got arcade mode and the heroes and heralds mode which I'm really enjoying. Aside from that it's just training and missions, both which would serve you well to prepare for online battles.

Just played the Japanese Gravity Daze demo, it's definitely a game worth checking out when it hits stateside next month.

It pains me that the HK PSN demo is in English but I can't play it without jumping through hoops.

Get it on EUR PSN Sony!
Especially not worth all the hoops just for it since the demo is (literally) 5 minutes long. Blink too slowly and it's over.

After spending 200+ hours on p4, would playing golden add anything major or is it the same?
It adds one new character which people are thinking links into Persona 5 (doubt it).

It won't add anything major like FeMC in P3P but it's just worth getting because Vita will be the Persona machine with Persona 1, both 2's, 3 and now 4.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
