dmesg doesn't show anything useful, it simply says that the endpoint is stalling. It looks like it sees the device, but is failing at sending anything across it. It is possible my gecko is broken, but I used it just a couple months ago.

Also, it would really suck if my gecko was broken, they are like impossible to find these days.

I would probably just set the timer to a fixed value, it would be by far the simplest code. It might be better to skip the exit check as then we might be able to get a little ways past where the demos are supposed to end, but I doubt that would work very well. Finding the decrementing/incrementing timer and setting it to a fixed value would be trivial, assuming they are using an incrementing decrementing timer instead of storing the initial time and then checking the delta, which would be a fair deal trickier to figure out.

This iso is significantly smaller than the full game, and if it was compiled in 2010, surely doesn't have most of the content. It likely has a fair deal more content than is used in the demo though. Figuring out item modifier codes would probably be relatively simple, but again I need a computer with a working copy of wiird.

Compiled in 2010? There's probably a decent bit of beta content in there then (I guess technically this whole rip would be considered beta). Will be interesting to compare it to the final version when it comes out. And even though the demo isn't complete, I'm sure there's more content than just those 3 parts. My skills are limited, but I'll try hacking some simple codes together.

There are 5 confirmed parts.

Can we at least get a filename? Forgive me if I missed it in the thread.

To be honest the demo was pretty disappointing. My motion plus kept unsyncing constantly and the swordplay was pretty meh. And you can't swing your sword while running (a la Twilight Princess) anymore...

I hate everything. I am 90% certain my usbgecko is toast. This really sucks, they are like impossible to find now. Maybe I can find an SE, but I heard they have a relatively high failure rate. I am going to go cry.

Oh I spoke just a little too soon, I forgot to install the drivers on my friends laptop. Hopefully that'll do it...

I found 3 ".brsar" files in the ISO and extracted them. Only problem is, I don't know how to extract the Music/SFX from the ".brsar" files. Any help would be appreciated. If I can get help extracting the music, I'll upload the music files for you guys.

I just get a black screen when booting, forcing NTSC using cfg loader v70, ios 248 d2x. Any ideas?

I used USBLoader GX with iOS249[56] d2xv6 and the game booted right up and played fine

I didn't have any issues w/ my motionplus (I have the Wii Remote+ thing w/ it built in). The sword play will take some getting used to, but I like it - much better than TP's wagglefest. It is going to take me some time to get used to pressing A to use an item and B to put an item away

OMFG, so I was taking some ram dumps, and then it crashed (happens fairly frequently when dumping a large block of RAM), and now the laptop wont recognize it anymore. I'm about ready to give up.

They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc

I honestly can't recommend any of the big 3 this years I'd say buy a rog ally z1 if we're being honest

Every games basically cross platform they only have about 6 titles making it worth the $600 price tag
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
nintendo needs to up their game soon
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah even bt support for Xbox one controllers are just as easy as pairing
    +1
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
considering the steamdeck can emulate the switch (yikes) theres almost 0 reason to buy the switch apart from playing online and using cartridges
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Xinput and 360 dongles were a driver nightmare
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I remember having to manually put in drivers and what not
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Yeah the 360 dongles sucked
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
But the new Xbox pads? PIr it up and if a game supports it it just works
