Hi, received an old DS lite, and i have also the Blue Gateway

Where can i download the Blue gateway for the nintendo DS ?
the gateways server is now dead :(

here is only for red card :/ but nothing for bluecard :/
https://wiidatabase.de/3ds-downloads/hacks/gateway-3ds-installationsdateien/

I tred the FW on this site:
https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/Gateway_Launcher_3DS
with this FW on MicroSD card Root, und the DS lite have and stay on the screen "Loading"

I tried also
GW_ULTRA_3_4_1.zip\GATEWAY ULTRA 3.4.1\Blue Card (R4i)

but it stay also on "loading" ....

And a also tried this one, and same problem:
https://gbatemp.net/download/gateway-blue-card-kernel.35920/

Here are some of the fixes that you can try.
  • The SD card was formatted incorrectly. Try either formatting to FAT32 or use a different card.
  • Kernel may be incompatible, ensure that you got the correct one.
  • Make sure the kernel is named to "_DSMENU.DAT".
  • Disassemble the cartridge and resolder the SD card connector.

Personally, I would try to repeat all this but with a different microSD.
No more ideas.

To summarize. Were checked:
1. branded Blue Card (R4i) from GATEWAY ULTRA 3.4.1. (GW ULTRA 3.7.2b have exactly same files for Blue Card, checksums match)
2. Gateway Blue Card MultiKernel GWB-MK01-2
3. Gateway Blue Card Wood R4 1.62 from flashcard-archive
4. (another) patched Wood FW v1.62 for Gateway Blue Cart by BXZ_
The result is the same. But it works for other people. So, either cart or card.

how is the file structured on your
SD-card for i've got the funny idea it might be wrong.
the archive needs to be extracted to the root of your SD-card.
sd:\some files and some folders
not:
sd:\a folder\some files and some folders
sidenote: i thought they eventually figured out what clone of r4i was used in blue gateway card.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
