My first time coming out.

Sure, you guys know me as the well loved hentai addict of gbatemp, but before that I had a, let's say a rather interesting past.

It started when I was around 14 years old that I've found out I've been getting "romantic vibes" for girls. At first I did not know what being a lesbian is so idiotic 14 year old me thought it was normal...Until I made the mistake of revealing my feelings to a girl I liked. Once I did she called me disgusting and spread it to the whole school. In no less than a week I started getting excluded out of groups and tables getting labels such as freak and other shit. I was on the verge of suicide, ready to kill
myself until my now best friend who shall be unnamed, pulled me out of it. Without her I would'nt be alive to this date. She even helped me admit to my parents in which they were in denial at first (would not talk to me for 2 months) until they slowly started to accept me, which I was grateful for. I do not reveal personal things often, So I hope for ladies out there like me, this at least gives some hope in your heart. (Despite our century, Homophobes are still around bullying and making the LGBT community commit suicide which saddens me.)

Wow what an amazing story to share good luck my friend
:D

Good luck! It seems like society is progressing quite nicely anyhow, but we dykes (sorry, hate the word "lesbian", so damn clinical) have a higher suicide rate than everyone else in the population. It's something like 60% higher than normal. Hell, I'm a suicide attempt survivor - nothing felt worse than waking up after taking pills to end your life because of crushingly low self-esteem.

Personally, I always felt different, and listening to my peers discuss things about the boys they had crushes on made me suspect that I wasn't normal. (And finally it clicked, I was jealous of my friend's multiple boyfriends, not because she was popular with so many boys - I was completely jealous of not having a chance with her. Yup, I fell for a damn straight girl!)

Glad you have your family backing you up, and it's nice to read cheerful stories on LGBTA+ stuff once in a while!

I find it really baffling that a whole group of people would discrimate you when you're so young. In my country it would be ridiculous to isolate someone because they're gay or a lesbian, or a pansexual, or bi.

I'm happy that you have managed to leap through that kind of hurdle and never wish for it to happen to anyone else. I hope that there will be a time when being lgbt wouldn't make anyone bat an eyelash anymore.

Being LGBT shouldn't matter - I don't mean "LGBT people don't matter" but "it shouldn't make a difference at all if someone is gay or straight"

Issue is, it's an out-of-the-norm thing - there are characters in media that are designed to be "the gay character" which really bugs me - no one designs a character to be a "straight character"

I think LGBT shouldn't be treated differently at all from straight people. Both LGBT and straight sexual orientations should be considered normal.

Same goes for race and gender - people shouldn't be thought higher or lower of just because they're male, female, or African-American, or anything else.

Similar thing here. I'm pansexual male and it's a problem, although I've always been a problem to people, when people found out I wanted to transition (MtF) and also my sexuality was found, it means 'throw me under a bus'.

Just... LGBTQIAK people... they are never a problem. As @Sonic_Cee_Dee says people of race are no different either, we are all people down to the end. The LGBT-phobic and xenophobic peoples are the ones that are fucking idiots.

Where do you live? I know kids in schools still make fun of and exclude homosexual males(which is pretty shitty), but females are usually well excepted. Great read, and I hope that everything continues to go well for you :)

Agreed. But you know, that LGBTIAPWKQZLJ (did I leave out a letter?) segregates people from being just like anyone else and gives them a 'special' privilege, i.e., they need to announce that they're gay and everyone else should care. Tbh, I couldn't careless about one's sexuality or if they've swapped their gender -- we're all just people.

African-American
Does that include white Africans too?

Out of curiosity, how old are you now? I'm just curious as to how long ago that fiasco happened. I know that you mentioned that you were at a graduation party with your (then) fiance in your most recent blog post, so... end of high school? College?

@Saiyan Lusitano not all LGBT want special treatment. Its kind of a new thing where sudo sexualities ride on the coattails of LGBT's that had a real struggle for equality. At least that's what I think. Once a big movement was pushed, all these sexual identities popped up like a 90's jnco fad claiming they deserved to be referred to as 'genderfluid, pansexual, blah fucking blah'.

I agree with you. I couldn't care less. That is, until it begins to effect my life in a negative way. Friends of mine, that happen to be homosexual, bi or trans, aren't like this. Which is why we're friends. If you run into any of these 'cis haters' just remember, they aren't really LGBT that have gained character through the fight for equality. They're just assholes that want attention.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
