My dog will be put down tomorrow

Three years ago, my sister Bailey thought that our current dog was getting a little lonely. She never got along well with other dogs, but there was one at the animal shelter she growled at the least. It was a little beagle. The animal shelter said that she was the sweetest girl in there. They knew about our current dog and they really wanted us to have her. Soon later, we adopted her and named her Charlie "Bean" Dorch.
She is a very sweet dog and from day one, all she wanted from us was to be around her and pet her. It was very clear she had a hard life before us. From what we were told, she was abused by her previous owner and already had puppies. There are scars on her face and running all down her back legs. To make things worse, she had her neck ripped open by a raccoon last year. Despite all this, Bailey loved this dog so much and she meant the world to her. It was weird having two dogs in the house but we got used to it.

Unfortunately, Charlie's struggles did not end after leaving that shelter. She has Congenital Heart Failure. We knew this from day one after her adoption and it wasn't till 2 years later did she begin having some problems. Now after a year of suffering, my sister has made the decision to let her go. This is hard for all of us, but nothing compare to what Bailey is feeling.

I know this is a gaming forum and everyone here comes from all walks of life. Where i come from is from the South: God and Guns country. I'm not going to preach to anyone, but something i believe in is prayer. I ask this, for anyone out there who shares my faith, please pray for my sister as she is going through this hard time. She needs it more than ever right now.

Thank you for reading. I just had to vent. It's not easy loosing a pet. A lot of you probably understand that.

Oh for fuck's sake, that's depressing. Sad dog stories always get me. Hopefully you and your family pull through with this. I'm fortunate as of now to not have the experience of having a dog put down, but our own is getting up there in age. I just can't bear thinking about that.

At least she'll have ambrosia dog treats in puppy heaven. I know how you feel, two of my dogs had to be put down due to cancer (they were siblings) and the third one is nearly sixteen so we don't know how much longer he'll be. Stay strong, you and your family.

As someone who works with canines, it always breaks my heart to see them go through hard times, likewise, with their owners. We're all here for you man, if you ever need to vent, PM me at any time, okay? :(

My mom's first cat died a while after I moved out. Even though I didn't live there anymore, it was hard on me because I grew up with that cat and always loved her. I know exactly how you feel and there's not much I can do to comfort you but know that it will pass, however cliche that may sound.

Update:
My sister was just informed about tomorrow. Later this week, there will be a ceremony and prayer provided by our the animal clinic for the families and the deceased animals. If you can, please pray for my sister tonight that she gets good sleep tonight. It won't be easy and i don't know what it will be like tomorrow.
Thank you everyone for your support and prayers.

I know your pain all too well. 3 years ago I had to say goodbye to the little dog that kept me from leaving this world. She was my little therapy pup for 13 years, the only living creature that was able to keep me going after some terrible things I was dealing with. That is, until the day she passed of a combination of old age and heart failure. It was nice to know that she didn't suffer as it happened in her sleep and took her instantly. To this day I can't look at a picture of her with out becoming an emotional mess.. I may not be a religious man.. But I do pray for you, your sister, and the rest of your family that love this dog. We'll all be together at the rainbow bridge at the end.

Oh man. I can't handle sad pet stories. And it killed me once I saw it was you because you've always been really nice.

2 years ago, my dog passed of a herniated disk (I believe that was what it was called). Just two years before that my first dog passed from the same issue. They were both from Idaho, one from my family moving to Arizona, and the other when my brother moved in with us. It was a difficult time for my entire family.

It will be hard, and the worst part is when it is over because you never know how much you'll miss them until you do.

I'll keep you and your family in my prayers tonight, and stay strong.

@blujay
Thank you for speaking so highly of me. I never thought anyone did. Thank you again.

Your dog had the same problem as my cat, which passed away 2 months ago as well.
I know its tough, really tough and in my opinion, tougher than losing a fellow human but be strong.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
