Littering.

Okay, am I the only one who finds littering repulsive? I was downtown and at the mall most of the day today, and I was completely shocked at how many people just throw their garbage into the streets (I should be used to it, but I'm not). One guy actually threw some gum wrappers and an empty pack of gum into the street when there was a trash can about 50 feet away (and he was headed toward it, anyway). Is it really so hard to throw your trash where it belongs? I'm disgusted at the amount of garbage around the apartment I live in now that most of the snow has melted away, and downtown is extremely dirty. ~___~

Meh. Shit happens. I live in Las Vegas and littering is just a part of life. Either you do it yourself, you live with it, or you go around all hippy dippy picking other people's shit up.

Now if I were somewhere that actually had any natural beauty left, I would take issue with it, but IMO, you really can't pollute a city made entirely of dust and concrete.

I never see small things around...just stuff like fastfood bags filled with empty containers and crap. It is really sad how people are so inconsiderate and just throw their shit anywhere they please.
I mostly see people toss the bags of things out of car windows...which is just a "what the fuck are doing." kind of thing.

Then again, people are becoming so stupid these days it really isn't surprising.

Same here. It's so overwhelming to see all the cigarette butts, fast food wrappers, soda bottles, etc all along the highway and there is just so much of it.

If I ever get a chance to just move to a cleaner area I'm going to take it no matter the circumstances. Not even sure places like that exist now.

Over here it's all mainly fast food shit, I was at a McDonalds drive thru the other day and the car park was a total mess covered in crap, there was a car with a bunch of kids in it parked right next to a bin but when they went to drive off they just chucked all their crap out of the windows the lazy fucking bastards!!

Not so much of a problem in car park as it can easily be picked up by staff but it's everywhere, all along the sides of the roads for about 4 square miles of every McDonalds.....

And don't get me started on chewing gum all over the pavements, that really pisses me off although this is pretty cool....

Littering /=/ stupidity

I see laws against littering, at least in my state, more appalling and utterly retarded than the act of littering itself. It's sad when these things hurt other animals, but then again, landfills do that/did that too.

That's not the point, the point is it looks horrible. I hate littering and have never littered anything in my life (deliberately) - and if i do accidentally drop something then i make an effort to go and pick it up.

Exactly, it's just lazy behavior, It's not difficult to put something in the god damn bin is it? Or at least keep hold of it until you find a bin.........

Oh, I'm not going to argue that. I completely agree. I'm just not going to go out of my way to pick up everyone else's junk.

People that litter are lazy. I once saw a guy drop a used oil container (there wasn't much oil left in it). So I walked over to him, picked it up and said "here, you dropped this."

I thought he was going to jump me.

I hate littering too. :glare:
If I see anyone do it I want to give it back to them and force them to put it in a bin, but I've never done that yet.
