Guys... I need help with this damn compiler!

Well. I'm running Win10 so let's go:
I wanted to test some of my simple c language programs.
Installed mingw32 and downloaded gcc-compiler and it's library's.
The problem i'm running in, how tf do I execute it?

I mean, everything is okay but that crap gives me problems! I'm really lost so help would be appreaciated @_@

[I don't want to modify environement path for reasons, last time i tried that it didn't go well]
And before you get too excited: No, i'm not able to code shit in C. I'm just a small, starting user. I downloaded a book off internet which is very user friendly so far so...

Also, self-motivation is cool! I want to code at all cost.

Prove that it was made only for your peripheral software.
Anyways Linux > Windows > FreeBSD > MacOS
And you should stop here without derailing it into shitstorm even further.

@ForeverEternal
Yeah, i realized that already in Windows 7.
Will probably setup a dedicated VM just so i can experiment with stuff.

@Felek666 It hasn't drivers for some specific hardware...

But...
I can convert Windows sys driver files to FreeBSD loadable kernel modules, which is not present at Linux

ArchLinux is for wannabe people tbh.
"OMG i installed arch by literally folowing a tutorial on google!"
It's yet another Linux at the end.

@Felek666 I just want my system to be mine, and if you didn't search deep, LFS, now you will have nightmares

I honestly fail to understand what makes Linux the absolute must-have OS for GNU/GCC development. I actually began my GCC and console homebrew development journey on Windows not very long ago now, and have really settled into it and can find my way around with sheer ease...
Are there actual legit, worthwhile benefits to switching to Linux for producing stuff? Or is it just a case of classic fanboyism?

It's true, but you actually do learn how to manage your partitions and bootloaders etc at a lower level than using a pre-loaded distro which can be extremely useful. Not to mention, once you've installed Arch a few times, it is fucking rapid.

@Voxel
Probably just fanboyism.
I myself don't mind developing on Windows but I hate doing anything that I don't know how works.
Linux has built-in gcc compiler so it's kinda easier.

@Felek666 You said it yourself, Linux has builtin gcc, and I repeat, if you want to develop GNU stuff, go with Linux or Hurd, or just stay with Windows

@EthanAddict
And another failed point used commonly by Linux fanboys.
Windows can be your easily. You can even tweak shell to be anything you would want it to be. You can regedit the hell outta it. You can remove spying services. You can customize it to your liking.
Really dumb reason. And no, don't bring up that's "secure and private" because nothing is secure and we are spied by everyone on daily basics.

@Felek666 True that, but I still prefer Linux/BSD/wtfelse, because Cost = 0 and freedom as in speece, and you can't be a direct victim of mass surveillance, if you get/send everything encrypted

@EthanAddict Yeah, I knew that Linux had it all pre-built in, but speaking from my past experience msys2 was extremely easy to get up and running on Windows, an OS that, might I add, contains tons upon tons of other programs that I want to utilize at the same time as when I am developing. Moreover, many of these programs are Windows only... And as a result, I exclusively stick to Windows, no matter how "superior" people make Linux out to be.
So I suppose it's really a matter of what you use your PC for...

@Shadowfied I have Visual installed, but I personally don't develop through it very much (Only if I have to work with official closed SDKs). I use msys2/GCC/Whatever when I'm just developing OpenGL, command line, or 3DS/Vita homebrew apps, and not really much more.

And let's be honest, why you're telling this here?
If you love it so much, keep it. Not a reason to be proud of, really.
That's like running Ubuntu. Everyone runs it, yet no one brags about it.

I respect your opinion but jesus christ, I will not change my OS just to be a damn elitist.
@EthanAddict

Nor should you change to be an "elitist". Just use what works best for you. I run Linux on all my laptops cause it's a hella lot faster in just about every regard for my usage, but roll Windows on my desktop for gaming and streaming. Granted, I'll probably transition to Linux on my desktop if gaming on Linux keeps growing as rapidly as it has.
